Systems and methods of providing illumination may be provided in accordance with the invention. A lighting unit may be provided comprising a plurality of light sources, each light source of said plurality being at least partially surrounded by an optical element, and a support configured to support the light source above a surface. The light sources may be light emitting plasma sources, and the support may be a high-mast support. In some embodiments, the optical element may be a reflector containing one or more facets, directing the light toward the surface. In some configurations, each light source of said plurality may be independently controllable and/or dimmable. A lighting unit may communicate with an external controller, which may provide instructions for controlling the light sources. A lighting system may be provided with a host controlling a plurality of lighting units, which may be organized into zones. The zones, lighting units, and/or light sources may be independently controllable.

Multi-stage LED drivers and lighting systems are disclosed. The lighting system comprises a bridge rectifier receiving power from an AC power line source, two or more current limiting devices, and a string of LEDs having a corresponding number of LED lamps connected in electrical series. Each of the current limiting devices is coupled to and provides current to the corresponding LED. When the instantaneous voltage of the alternating current source is near zero volts, no significant current flows through the string of LEDs. As the instantaneous voltage from the bridge rectifier increases beyond the forward voltages of the LEDs in the string, the current limiting devices energize and provide current to the corresponding LEDs as well as the LEDs connected to the cathode of the corresponding LED. The equivalent circuits of the lighting system vary throughout the power cycle of the AC line power source.

LED lighting systems employing plano optics, direct dissipation heat sinks, and linear AC direct current drivers are disclosed. The heat sink is configured to provide thermal management for the LED lights and AC linear current driver circuit elements, as well as to provide a means for holding lenses having diffractive optical elements. The LED lighting systems are compact, energy efficient, and may be used in many conventional incandescent or fluorescent lighting applications. Lenses having diffractive optical elements are designed to redirect light radiated from the LEDs into other directions.

A cap lamp system includes a battery pack featuring a housing with a battery cell and a protection circuit positioned within the battery pack housing. A pair of terminals are attached to the battery cell and are adapted to provide power to a cap lamp and/or other device(s). Circuitry is electrically attached to the battery cell and the cap lamp for controlling discharging of the battery cell when powering the cap lamp and/or other device(s) and charging of the battery cell when the battery pack is connected to a charger.

Compositions comprising a combination of epigallocatechin gallate (EGCG) and non-digestible oligosaccharides are described to prevent and/or treat one or more gastrointestinal (GI) imbalances associated with digestive disorders.

A size-adaptive mobile device cover comprises: a cover panel or multiple cover panels, one cover panel having a side surface and a first attaching portion mounted on the side surface of the cover panel; at least one first edge holder secured on the side surface of the panel that has the first attaching portion, each of the at least one first edge holder having a retaining recess; and multiple corner holders disposed opposite to the at least one first edge holder, each of the corner holders having a second attaching portion, and the second attaching portion detachably attached to the first attaching portion. Accordingly, the size-adaptive mobile device cover is not only applicable to mobile devices of various sizes, but also has low production cost and is convenient for use.

A size-adaptive mobile device cover has a protection cover with two cover boards and multiple angle holders detachably mounted inside the protection cover. The protection cover serves to carry a mobile device. Each angle holder has two holding sections. A movable fixing portion is detachably mounted on an outer side of one of the holding sections, and is detachably combined with another movable fixing portion on an inner side of one of the cover boards. A holding slot is formed between the two holding sections of each angle holder for holding one corner of the mobile device. As the angle holders can be selectively and detachably mounted on the cover board to hold corners of a mobile device, the size-adaptive mobile device is applicable to mobile devices of various sizes.

LED drivers and lighting systems having a dynamically reconfigurable switching network is disclosed. The lighting system comprises a switching network which provides interconnections between LEDs or LED lamps that can dynamically reconfigure between largely parallel circuits and largely serial circuits as the instantaneous voltage of a power supply varies. When the instantaneous voltage of the power source is low, the switching network interconnects the LED lamps in a largely parallel configuration. As the instantaneous voltage increases, the switching network reconfigures and interconnects the LED lamps with increasing serial configurations. As the instantaneous voltage begins to decrease, the switching network reconfigures and interconnects the LED lamps back to a largely parallel configuration.

A lighting unit may be provided comprising a plurality of light sources, each light source of the plurality being at least partially surrounded by an optical element, and a support assembly configured to support the light source above a surface. The light sources may be radio frequency (RF) coupled electrodeless plasma sources, and the support assembly may be a high-mast support assembly. In some embodiments, the optical element directs light toward the surface. In some configurations, each light source of the plurality may have one or more independently controllable and/or adjustable lighting characteristics. A lighting unit may communicate with a controller, which may provide instructions for controlling the light sources. A lighting system may be provided with a host controlling a plurality of lighting units, which may be organized into networks, and/or zones. The networks, zones, lighting units, and/or light sources may be independently controllable and/or adjustable. In some embodiments, management software may provide functionality for monitoring, reporting, controlling and/or interacting with the lighting system.
