In the past decade, novel materials, probes and tools have enabled fundamental and applied cancer researchers to take a fresh look at the complex problem of tumour invasion and metastasis. These new tools, which include imaging modalities, controlled but complex in vitro culture conditions, and the ability to model and predict complex processes in vivo, represent an integration of traditional with novel engineering approaches; and their potential effect on quantitatively understanding tumour progression and invasion looks promising. © 2013 Macmillan Publishers Limited. A dental implant includes an upper connector portion and lower implantation portion, the connector portion receiving a dental crown or similar prosthesis, the implantation portion having rectangular cross section and linear vertical profile with machine taper. An outer surface of the implantation portion provides frictional fit with a correspondingly shaped surrounding bone surface. A bone removal tool includes a hand-held actuator generating high-frequency, small-amplitude vibration, and an attached metal tool tip having elongated head portion and curved neck portion. The head portion has rectangular cross section and linear taper, and an outer surface of the head portion has a saw-toothed grinding pattern for removing bone. The neck portion is dimensioned and configured to establish mechanical resonance of the tool tip including axial reciprocating action of the head portion in response to the actuator vibration.

Provided herein are novel compositions comprising anti-DEspR antibodies and fragments thereof, including fully human, composite engineered human, humanized, monoclonal, and polyclonal anto-DEspR antibodies and fragments thereof, and methods of their use in a variety of therapeutic applications. The compositions comprising the anti-DEspR antibodies and fragments thereof described herein are useful in diagnostic and imaging methods, such as DEspR-targeted molecular imaging of angiogenesis, and for companion diagnostic and/or in vivo-non invasive imaging and/or assessments.

Defined nanoparticle cluster arrays (NCAs) with dimensions up to 25.4 m square are fabricated on a 10 nm gold film using template guided self-assembly. Structural parameters are precisely controlled, allowing systematic variation of the number of nanoparticles in the clusters (n) and edge to edge separation () between 1

Disclosed are methods of treating viral disorders via the administration of an inducing agent and an anti-viral agent. In one embodiment, the inducing agent and the anti-viral agent are administered for about five days, and the anti-viral agent is subsequently administered without the inducing agent for an additional period of about sixteen days for a total cycle of about 21 days.
