English Morphological Analysis (MA) and Part-of-Speech (POS) tagging are key task in natural language processing (NLP) and computational linguistics. This research and application are of great theoretical and practical significance. English Morphological Analysis (MA), Part-of-Speech (POS) tagging and Phrase Dictionary Retrieval (PDR) are essential steps in the course of NLP. And they are difficult in NLP. Their results are decisive to the accuracy of next processing, such as information searching, information filtration. As separate problems of English, MA, POS, PDR can be considered independent with each other. In a practical research system, however, they are dependent: solution of the prior one forms the base for processing the next one. Considering different features of these problems in this thesis, after a comprehensive study, a divide-and-conqueror strategy is proposed and resolves them separately. First, a knowledge-based method is put forward for the solution of MA. The whole MA processing is completed by many subordinate functions dealing with different particular marks of English words. A strategy of combining the word length with statistic enumeration is developed to distinguish between the periods and abbreviations. ©2010 IEEE. Source

It has enormous development with the wavelet theory applied to image edge detection for its well properties of multi-scale edge detection. The traditional wavelet algorithm has bad sensitive to direction properties that applied to analysis image edge detection, and it is the major disadvantage. So the traditional wavelet about this is improved and puts forward a kind of new wavelet transform algorithm used for image edge detection. Compared improved wavelet algorithm with traditional wavelet for edge detection, it shows that new wavelet transform is more suitable for image edge detection and the clearer detection result is obtained. Complete image edge as well as accurate positioning and can reserve better detail information. ©2010 IEEE. Source

Static recrystallization behavior of hot deformed austenite for two kinds of low-carbon Nb-microalloyed steels was studied with compression test on Gleeble-3500 simulator. The two-pass compression test results show that the austenite static recrystallization is retarded by Nb. The gear case is important equipment in the ship power system and its anti-shock performance is the significant assurance for the naval vitality. The Pauta Criterion method is used to determine the weak link of the gear case. And that the optimum design of anti-shock performance is done in material and structure aspects which focus on the weak link and danger area of the gear case. The results show that the anti-shock margin of safety of the gear case could be increased using the materials with higher yield limit and also the anti-shock capability. At the same time, the anti-shock margin of safety of the gear case could be improved by thickening the slab of the structure, and the degree of the margin of safety improvement is different due to the difference of the slab thickness modification. The various factors should be considered to evaluate the anti-shock performance of the gear case. The research of anti-shock performance optimization of the naval gear case aims to offer references for the optimum design of the navy system and the equipments. © 2010 IEEE. Source
