A method for probing refractive index changes in photorefractive crystals using an interferometric technique and digital image processing was proposed. Based on equal thickness interference in LiNbO3 crystal and Fourier transform profilometry, we obtained phase value changes in interferograms induced by a photorefractive effect, and further calculated refractive index changes. The maximal values for extraordinary light (e-light) and ordinary light (o-light) are 6.6×10-4 and 1.2×10-4, respectively.

Solid phase crystallization (SPC) of amorphous Silicon(a-Si) films prepared on aluminum-induced textured (AIT) glass was studied. The structure and optical properties of films were studied by virtue of Raman scattering spectra and X-ray diffraction. The results show that the crystalline volume fraction on AIT glass has reached above 80% by rapid-thermal process after 10 h, and it has a better light trapping effect compared with the films prepared on planar glass.

The actuators' mechanical properties evaluation is a fuzzy concept with multiple properties and classes. The fuzzy data quantification, analytic hierarchy process and fuzzy comprehensive evaluation (AHP-FCE) methods are combined to establish the actuators' mechanical properties evaluation (MPE) model. The flowchart of actuators' MPE and selection on AHP-FCE was considered and characterized in detail. The weighted average principle has been taken to replace the maximum membership principle in dealing with the actuator' mechanical properties comprehensive value. One pneumatic actuator and one electric actuator in same working demand are taken as an example to verify the evaluation model. The result shows that it is effective, correct, easy to apply and worth to being recommended in similar evaluation field. © 2011 ACADEMY PUBLISHER.

The enthalpies of dilution of (2S,3R,4R,5R)-hexane-1,2,3,4,5,6-hexol in water and aqueous sodium halide solutions have been determined by isothermal flow-mix microcalorimetry at T = (293.15 to 318.15) K. Experiential equations of apparent enthalpies of dilution varying with the concentration of the polylol have been obtained from the experimental data in terms of the improved McMillan-Mayer theory. Enthalpic interaction coefficients, h2, h 3, and h4, pairwise entropic interaction coefficient s2, and Gibbs free energy pairwise coefficient g2 have been calculated. The values of pairwise enthalpic interaction coefficient, h2, have been discussed in the light of solute-solute and solute-solvent interactions. The results indicate that the values of h 2 show quite well that the straight-line dependence on temperature and pairwise entropic interaction coefficient, s2, is a constant in the experimental range of temperature. © 2010 American Chemical Society.

The enthalpies of dilution of D-sorbitol in water and sodium halide aqueous solutions had been determined by isothermal flow-mix microcalorimetry at 293. 15K.303. 15K, 308. 15K, and 318. 15K. Experiential equations of apparent enthalpies of dilution varying with the concentration of D-sorbitol had been established from the experimental data in terms of the improved McMillan-Mayer theory,and enthalpic interaction coefficients (h2 ,Z3 ,and h4), pairwise entropic interaction coefficient s2 and pairwise Gibbs free energy interaction coefficient g2 obtained. The values of h2 had been discussed in the light of solute-solute and solute-solvent interactions. The results indicated that, the values of h 2 increased as raising temperature in pure water and the sodium halide aqueous solutions; and it shows quite well linear dependence on temperature, so s2 is a constant in the experimental range of temperature.
