Flowfield characteristics of correctly expanded subsonic and sonic jets from uncontrolled nozzle and jet with plain solid tab were compared with jet having slanted perforated tabs of different shapes. The jet with tab of slanted perforation angles of 300 of circular, elliptical in horizontal and vertical major axis and square shape were used for the experiment. Detailed Pitot pressure measurements revealed that the slanted perforation in the tab had a strong influence on the emerging flowfield. The tab with 300 slanted perforation of circular shape was found to be more efficient in disturbing the potential core in subsonic jets when compared with solid tab and other shapes of perforation in tabs considered. It was also found that it was having a slightly lesser potential core as compared to jet with solid tab. © 2016, American Institute of Aeronautics and Astronautics Inc, AIAA. All rights reserved. Face recognition is an important part of today’s emerging biometrics and video surveillance markets. Recent years have witnessed an exploding interest in the development of face recognition algorithms and products. Currently, face recognition systems are usually implemented on general purpose processors. As face recognition algorithms move from research labs to the real world, power consumption and cost become critical issues. This motivates searching for implementations using a digital signal processor (DSP). Our goal in this thesis is to explore the feasibility of implementing DSP-based face recognition systems. To achieve this goal, we conduct a performance analysis of various face recognition algorithms such as eigen face using PCA, wavelet and we select a best algorithm to implement an fully automatic face recognition system on analog devices ADSP21065L DSP. The results of our experiments demonstrate that a generic ASM implementation with a modest level optimization effort results in a face recognition software prototype that has low CPU and memory requirements. Hence, it appears that well-optimized face recognition implementations on DSPs can be an effective choice for embedded face recognition products. we have chosen eigen face method and ported to our processors. © Research India Publications. A massive computation power and storage capacity is offered by the cloud computing to the users to use the applications without infrastructure investment. For operational convenience and for economic advantages, a lot of privacy sensitive applications like health services are built on cloud. Typically, the data sets in these applications are anonymized to assert the privacy of data owners but the privacy requirements can be violated when new data join over time. In this paper, a set of records are given as input and some attributes are chosen as quasi-identifiers for data anonymization and the set of records are clustered based on k-means clustering technique. The k-anonymity constraint and information loss is checked for each cluster and the cluster is modified based on the k-anonymity constraint. Thereafter, new records are added after choosing the quasi-identifiers and after anonymize it. This study has been planned to know the seroprevalence of Helicobacter pylori infection among children attending the paediatric department with complaints not related to gastro intestinal tract. Serum samples obtained from children of both sexes aged between 2 years to 16 years will be tested for anti - Helicobacter pylori antibodies of IgG class by quantitative ELIZA test. Results: It is observed that, female children acquired infection at an early age of 2-3 years while male children became infected only after 3 years. There is a steady increase in the age related sero prevalence among both the sexes and by the age of 12 years about 50 children of both sexes have acquired infection. Most of the seroprevalence children were from low socio-economic status. Conclusion: Helicobacter pylori is recognised as a risk factor for gastric carcinoma and lymphoma. Though the disease is acquired in childhood it is asymptomatic during childhood and produce manifestations in the later part of the life. As Helicobacter pylori infection is curable, an early diagnosis and treatment in childhood will prevent the late consequences of the disease in future life. Source

Seaweeds have been widely used for human consumption in many parts of the world. Marine algae can serve as a source of minerals, vitamins, free aminoacids and polyunsaturated fatty acids. Macroalgae can be classified as red algae (Rhodophyta), brownalgae (Phaeophyta) or green algae (Chlorophyta) depending on their nutrient and chemical composition. This paper presents the details of morphological studies and estimation of β-carotene of the experimental red algae. From the morphological studies of experimental red alga, the species was identified as Kappaphycus alvarezii. The species grow as clusters lobed thalli attached to the rocky substratum. From the studies, it is observed that the ash value and water soluble ash are found to be 54.32% and 24.32%. Quantitative analysis on the amount of β -carotene was performed using high performance liquid chromatography (HPLC) reverse phase column. HPLC result showed that one compound is presented in large besides other impurities which are confirmed as - β carotene. Source
