We develop a mathematical description of the main metrological characteristics of pulsed acoustic flowmeters. We determine sources of measurement error, indicate a possible way to improve the accuracy of measurements, and propose an approach for installing the meter, which increases the sensitivity of the measurement. © 2015, Springer Science+Business Media New York.

Studies of human blood are carried out for numerous parameters. One of them is sodium concentration. In this article, ion chromatographic, spectrophotometric, titrimetric, and gravimetric procedures for determination of sodium concentration in plasma, serum, and whole blood are described. Results are presented for development of gas nanosensors based on metals. Analytical possibilities are evaluated for the nominated devices. In particular, a capacity is demonstrated for determining quite a considerable number of organic and inorganic chemical compounds, and the effect of temperature is shown for sensitive nanosensor elements, and also sensing element coating morphology, geometry, and composition on measurement sensitivity and selectivity, time for establishing readings, reading recovery time to the initial value, and other technical and economic indices. © 2013 Springer Science+Business Media New York.
