As the next generation video display technique after 2D display based on DTV/HDTV, multi-view autostereoscopic three-dimensional (3D) display has been one of the most popular research issues in the world. And 3D displays are classified into two types: stereoscopic 3D display and autostereoscopic 3D display. The former includes head mount system, anaglyph system, polarized filter system, field sequential system and so on. The latter is also called true 3D display, it provides 3D perception without the need for special glasses or other head gear. In this paper we research on the multi-view autostereoscopic 3D display. Focusing on the multi-view stereoscopic 3D key technologies, the latest international development trends and existing problems is analyzed. Meanwhile a solution for implementing we designed an autostereoscopic multi-view 3D display that has pivot function in this 3D display several viewers without wearing eyeglass can see 3D stereo images on the prototype of the display. © 2010 IEEE.

It is hard to estimating effect without some necessary parameters such as working condition of mine, sweeping probability etc. This article designed an improved model which is based on Markov chains in consideration of some special situations, for example, if the mine field is swept one time, some mines can be affected many times. After analyzing the constraints of the model, we investigate the solving method for the model: stepwise regression and genetic algorithm. At last the emulation is carried out to demonstrate the calculation of the effectiveness indexes with relative analysis. The result shows that the estimating model can get exact outline of mines even in the condition of small sample data.

Warfare simulation needs to render a realistic virtual 3D battlefield environment efficiently to ensure the authenticity and real-time interaction. However, modeling special phenomena which are common in battlefield environment has proved difficult with the existing techniques of computer graphics. A method for special effect modeling and simulation by using particle system is proposed. Based on detailed discussion on the theory of particle system, the general particle system model for special effect simulation is designed, and its concrete implementation is presented. By capturing common features of various effects and carefully structuring into the model composition, the model can be reuse in different effects simulation with little modification, making it an efficient way to create various convincing special effects in virtual battlefield environment. With its flexibility, the model is easy to manipulate and implement. Its Level of Detail can be easily adjusted. Finally, concrete special effects simulation examples by using the model are also given to test its efficiency. ©2010 IEEE.

The purpose of this paper is to develop a composite agent model for computer generated forces. Based on the analysis and modeling on real force operation, a hierarchically structured CGF agent model was proposed. The model clearly draws the separation between the knowledge base and the functional part, while preserving the hierarchical structure of the model. The hierarchically structured levels of knowledge were not only constructed using the concepts of the lower levels, but they were also used to trigger activities at lower levels.The multi-stages control unit combines patterns of behavior with explicit planning facilities. Patterns of behavior allow CGF to react quickly and flexibly to changes in its environment.They are also building block of CGF plan. The model are able to plan activities and execute them within a framework designed to support devolved planning and execution of high level tasks in a manner similar to that found in military command structures.

Modeling and rendering special phenomena in virtual battlefield environment has proved difficult with the existing techniques of computer graphics. A method for special effect modeling and simulation by using particle system is proposed. In order to simplify the simulation of various special effects, we first design a general model of particle system by capturing common features of various effects and carefully structuring them into the model's composition. With its flexibility, the model is easy to manipulate and extend, form the base of all special effects simulation. Then, memory optimization technique and level of detail are adopted to improve the general model's efficiency. Finally, concrete special effects simulation examples by using the model are discussed to test its efficiency. The model can be reuse in different effects simulation with little modification, making it an efficient way to create various convincing special effects in virtual battlefield environment. ©2010 IEEE.

To make full use of traffic video along the highway, to achieve low-visibility weather monitoring, a meteorological visibility detection method is proposed on the traffic video. Fog causes the disappearance of edges in the frame, which is well reflected by the change in high frequency information. In order to extract out the edge feature that reflects the changes in visibility of the image feature parameters, the algorithm uses least squares method and the inverse transform to draw the fitting function, and analyzes the relations of the image characteristics and the distance to determine the visibility values. Algorithm satisfies the human visual system, and effectively improves the accuracy of visibility detection. Video visibility detection system has good real-time, high detection accuracy, a small error, and better robustness. System has function of realtime statistics and analysis.

This paper presents a novel approach towards showing how contractor in agent-based simulation for complex warfare system such as multi-sensor battlefield reconnaissance system can be selected in Contract Net Protocol (CNP) with high efficiency. We first analyze agent and agent-based simulation framework, CNP and collaborators, and present agents interaction chain used to actualize CNP and establish agents trust network. We then obtain contractor's importance weight and dynamic trust by presenting fuzzy similarity-based algorithm and trust modifying algorithm, thus we propose contractor selecting approach based on maximum dynamic integrative trust. We validate the feasibility and capability of this approach by implementing simulation, analyzing compared results and checking the model. © 2012 Copyright the authors.

Collision detection is one of the key technologies in visual simulation system. Through analysis of the principle of collision detection technologies and study of implementation mechanism of collision detection in Vega, this paper gets the method and steps of accomplishing collision detection on platform of Vega. And the workble responsive strategy of collision was introduced. We apply it to virtual battlefield environment. Results of the experiment show that it is effective. © 2011 IEEE.

Service and property of graphic elements in the graphic system is distinctive, so it is necessary to establish a unified data model. The paper makes use of the data model of graphic element based on CIM. Graphic element is the fundamental unit in interactive graphic system, which is abstract image of physical electrical equipment. All parameters in the graphic system can be planned as a whole in the data model. The data model of graphic element can be used to establish interactive graphic system which has convenient function in the calculation, analysis and management of the power system.

To make full use of traffic video cameras along highways and achieve low-visibility weather monitoring, based on the analysis of the calculation model for visibility value, a meteorological visibility detection method is proposed using image contrast. This method adopts the threshold value of the critical distance of the image visibility to calculate meteorological visibility. In order to extract out the image feature parameters that reflect the changes in visibility, the algorithm uses least squares method and inverse transform to draw the fitting function of contrast and distance, and analyzes the relation between the image characteristics and distance to determine the visibility values. The algorithm meets the visual characteristic of human eyes, and effectively improves the accuracy of visibility detection. The video visibility detection system has good real-time feature, high detection accuracy, small error and better robustness. The system can be used to carry out real-time statistics and analysis of the visibility of highways.
