The specific features of the structure, morphology, and valence composition of nanostructured molybdenum-vanadium mixed oxides prepared by copolycondensation of relevant oxoacids under solvothermal conditions are investigated. It is shown that the resultant oxide phases are mixtures of hexagonal molybdenum trioxide and a V2O5 xerogel-based solid solution in which some vanadium ions in the lattice are substituted by molybdenum ions. It is demonstrated that vanadyl centers in thus obtained mixed oxides exhibit a high degree of magnetic association. The parameters of the spin Hamiltonian of V(IV) ions were determined from EPR spectra. © 2015, Pleiades Publishing, Ltd.

Bioactive carbonyl- and sulfonyl-derivatives of aminophenols were studied. The proton-acceptor abilities of the aminophenols were estimated using a molecular electrostatic potential method. IR Fourier spectra of the aminophenols with different substituents on the amine were measured in solutions and crystals. Molecular functional groups that participate in the formation of H-bonds of the O-H⋯O=C, N-H⋯O=C, O-H⋯O=S=O, and N-H⋯O=S=O types were identified. The aminophenol antiviral activity correlated with the ability to form the H-bonds. A correspondence between the proton-acceptor properties of the hydroxyl oxygen in the aminophenols and their antiviral activity was revealed. © 2012 Springer Science+Business Media New York.

Photoinduced processes in thin films of MoO3 and mixed V2O5: MoO3 oxides prepared by polycondensation of the respective oxoacids under solvothermal conditions are studied using Raman spectroscopy, ESR, and AFM. It is shown that, under UV irradiation, the photoinduced polycondensation occurs in the oxide films, leading to the formation of the oxygen bridges, an effect that opens up the possibility of developing a new photolithographic process. © 2016, Pleiades Publishing, Ltd.
