A high selectivity was achieved in the Ni2B-catalyzed hydrogenation of α,β-unsaturated ketones containing a hydroxyaryl (phenolic) substituent in the β-position. The developed hydrogenation procedure was used to synthesize natural compounds of the phenylpropane series and their structural analogs. © 2017, Pleiades Publishing, Ltd.

The aim of the article is to analyze the researches on efficiency of cognitive therapy techniques (MBCT and MBSR), which are based on the mindfulness in working with self-consciousness in health and mental disorders. There were summarized the possibilities of use of the methods based on Mindfulness aimed at development of self-consciousness, prevention and correction of its disorders. The results of foreign researches prove that Mindfulness-meditation can be effective in preventing schizophrenia spectrum disorder, clinical depression, traumatic and stress disorders, bipolar affective disorder. The technology has been successfully used for rehabilitation of patients developing their self-control, attention, organization, resistance to stress, impulses control.

An fluorescence quenching effect due to few-walled carbon nanotubes chemically modified by carboxyl groups has been utilized to discriminate Single Nucleotide Polymorphism (SNP). It was shown that the complex obtained from these nanotube and singlestranded primer DNA is formed due to stacking interactions between the hexagons of the nanotubes and aromatic rings of nucleotide bases as well as due to establishing of hydrogen bonds between acceptor amine groups of nucleotide bases and donor carboxyl groups of the nanotubes. It has been demonstrated that these complexes may be used to make highly effective DNA biosensors detecting SNPs which operate as molecular beacons.

The composition and structure of Ti and W coatings deposited on (111)Si under ion beam assistance (Ti+, W+) are studied by RBS, TEM, SEM, and SPM. It is found that the structure of the Ti coatings contains a layer of TiSi and TiSi2 silicides and a layer comprising TiC carbides and TiO2 oxides. The deposition of a W coating results in the formation of a layer containing clusters of W3Si, W5Si3, and WSi2 silicides and WO2 oxide. Ion beam assisted deposition of metal coatings also leads to the amorphization of the surface layer of the silicon substrate. The coating thickness increases with decreasing acceleration voltage for assisting Ti+ and W+ ions from 15 to 5 kV. © 2015, Pleiades Publishing, Ltd.

The composition of Zr-based thin films on rubber was investigated by utilizing the Rutherford backscattering technique and RUMP code simulation. The level of adhesion between the coating fabricated on rubber by means of self-ion assisted deposition was measured using Pin Pull Test. The coating deposited on the rubber consists of Zr, O, C, H. The self-ion assisted deposition process may successfully control the level of adhesion of the coating to the rubber and causes strong modification of the macroscopic properties of the rubber surface.

Raspberry and ginger ketones have been synthesized in good yield by the hydrogenation of the corresponding unsaturated precursors 4-(4′- hydroxyphenyl)but-3-en-2-one and 4-(4′-hydroxy-3′-methoxyphenyl)but- 3-en-2-one, respectively, using a freshly prepared suspension of nickel boride in methanol as catalyst. © 2014 Verlag der Zeitschrift für Naturforschung.

Synthesis was performed of (3S)-3-methyldecen-1-ol and (4S)-4-methylundecen-1-ol, chiral alcohols with a methyl-branched carbon skeleton. The possibility of their application in asymmetric syntheses of insect pheromones was demonstrated. © 2014 Pleiades Publishing, Ltd.

Two invasive species of the sap beetles, Epuraea ocularis Fairmaire, 1849 and Stelidota geminata (Say, 1825), are recorded from Caucasus for the first time: from Abkhazia and from Russia (Krasnodar Territory) and Abkhazia, respectively. Stelidota geminata is also a new species for the fauna of Russia. © 2014 Zoological Institute, Russian Academy of Scienñes.

In that report we observe the initial stages in the process of film growth at different irradiation doses. Investigations of influence of Mo deposition on glass substrates by means of self-ion-assisted deposition on its topography (atomic force microscopy) and wettability (sessile-drop method) were carried out. It was found out that with an increase of the irradiation dose, the average roughness and the contact angle increases rapidly at first and then decrease. 2.45-2.77 increase in the contact angle of water when Mo-based coating was deposited on the glass was observed.

Corrections to the neutrino magnetic dipole moment from the singly charged Higgs bosons h(±) and δ̃(±) were calculated within the left-right symmetric model involving Majorana neutrinos. It is shown that, if the h(±) and δ̃(±) bosons lie at the electroweak scale, the contributions from Higgs sector are commensurate with the contribution of charged gauge bosons or may even exceed it. The behavior of the neutrino flux inmatter and in amagnetic field was studied. It was found that resonance transitions between light and heavy neutrinos are forbidden. © 2013 Pleiades Publishing, Ltd.
