A process for depositing a wear-resistant coating based on bronze BrA7N6F reinforced with wear-resistant materials introduced by the method of laser thermochemical treatment onto the surface of steel articles is developed and studied. The effect of complex inoculation with chemically active elements (Al, Ti), carbide-forming elements (B), and surface-active element (Bi) on the macro- and micro-structure of low-carbon steel is studied. It is shown that complex inoculation can prevent transcrystallization and refine the microstructure in castings. © 2013 Springer Science+Business Media New York.
