In order to initiate economic evaluation of green buildings and foster their development, this article conducts the cost-benefit evaluation of energy efficiency technology application (EETA) on green buildings in China. Based on the economic evaluation theory of construction project (EETCP), the authors first establishes the theoretical framework system of cost-benefit evaluation of the EETA on green buildings and then develops the analysis methods of incremental costs and quantitative calculation formula of incremental benefits of the EETA on green buildings. Using these theories and methods, this article takes the Wanke City project in China as a study case, conducts the cost-benefit empirical analysis of the EETA on green buildings, and draws the following important conclusions: (1) the incremental costs of the EETA account for a large proportion of total incremental costs of green buildings, which are more than 50% in this case; (2) the EETA on green buildings can bring incremental economic benefits, as well as environmental benefits; (3) if only consider the incremental economic benefits of the EETA on green buildings, the financial evaluation indexes show green buildings do not have market investment potential; (4) among all the factors influencing the financial evaluation results of the EETA on green buildings, power price is the most sensitive factor, followed by the unit incremental costs, and the lifetime has the smallest influence. © 2014 Elsevier B.V. An improved approach has been developed for ultra-sensitive detection of the concentration of NO using Faraday Modulation spectrometry (FAMOS) combined with the strong electronic transition. By changing the modulating magnetic field attributing to linear absorption and refraction of gas sample, the polarized laser was rotated and absorbed by the complex refraction index of NO. We confirm the relation between the magnitudes of absorption and the optimum modulation magnetic field. Also, the accuracy and the precision of the technique have been evaluated at different pressures. It is shown that the system is capable of detecting NO concentration down to 0.34 ppbm. © 2011 Optical Society of America. Source

We study the application of a kind of non-monotone line search's technique in conjugate gradient method. At present, most of the study of conjugate gradient methods are using Wolfe's monotone line search, by constructing the condition of Zoutendijk, we can get the conclusion that it's convergence by using reduction to absurdity. Here we study the global convergence of conjugate gradient methods with Armijo-type line search, the thought of proof wasn't using the method above mentioned. Source

Particle swarm optimization (PSO) is an evolutionary metaheuristic inspired by the flocking behavior of birds, which has successfully been used to solve several kinds of problems. In this paper, we refer to capacitated vehicle routing problem (CVRP) as the object to research distribution routing optimistic problem within transportation and logistics. An improved discrete particle swarm optimization (DPSO), a variant of PSO, combined with iterated local search (ILS) method is proposed. During the search process, the improved algorithm can adaptively adjust flying time of particles with the evolutionary generations and ILS ensures that the particles escaped from the local minimum. The experimental results for partial benchmark problems showed that the better results can be obtained by the method. © 2011 Published by Elsevier Ltd. Source

In order to conquer the premature convergence problem and lower the cost of computing of the basic Ant Colony Algorithm (ACA), we present an adaptive ant colony algorithm, named AACA, coupled with a Pareto Local Search (PLS) algorithm and apply to the Vehicle Routing Problem (VRP) and Capacitated VRP (CVRP). By using the information entropy, the algorithm adjusts the pheromone updating strategy adaptively. Experiments on various aspectsof the algorithm and computational results for some benchmark problems are reported. We compare our approach with some classic, powerful meta-heuristics and show that the proposed approach can obtain the better quality of the solutions. © Maxwell Scientific Organization, 2013.
