This article introduces one new measurement technology for evaluation of the early age shrinkage performance of concrete material without constraint conditions. Its exercise of eddy current method could make the airport pavement concrete material tested accurately during concrete early-age from pouring, when the pavement concrete does not harden. It also can evaluate the effects of the influencing factors on the concrete early-age shrinkage, such as fly ash, admixture, and fiber. By this method, the Shrinkage performance of different concrete material can be evaluated when concrete property design for airport pavement is making. © (2013) Trans Tech Publications, Switzerland.

This paper tested the pore structure, capillary water absorption and impermeability of cement mortars modified with three polymers respectively, establishing the relationship between the pore structure and waterproof performance. The results show that with the polymer dosage growing, especially as the polymer/cement ratio (mp/mc) increases from 0% to 5%, the reduction in the capillary water absorption and the penetration depth of water into mortar is significant. In the mp/mc range of 0%~20% the open porosity presents a gradual decrease trend. The capillary water absorption and the penetration depth of water into mortar show linear growth and exponential growth respectively with the open porosity increasing. © (2014) Trans Tech Publications, Switzerland.

In this paper, the method of melting snow with carbon fiber grille buried in airport pavement is presented to avoid the adverse effects of snow-melting chemicals on the structure, function, environment and safety. The outdoor snow-melting experiment of airport cement concrete pavement is conducted when the snow is heavy and the air temperature is from -3°C to -1°C. Electrical power is supplied to the airport pavement through the use of carbon fiber grille. It is shown that, with an input power of 350W/m2, the temperature of pavement surface can achieve an increment of 4.63°C and the 2.7cm thick snow can be melted within 2h, which is just for melting snow at this condition. After the heating stopped, the residual heat can melt snow on the pavement in real time when the temperature of pavement surface is kept above 0°C. The temperature and energy distribution along the depth of pavement are analyzed at different times. The findings indicate that the method of melting snow on airport pavement with carbon fiber grille is feasible in the snowy weather condition. © 2014 Elsevier B.V.

This paper studies the influence of fly ash with different dosage and grades on the crack performance of airport pavement concrete. In order to test airport pavement concrete material accurately and quickly, Dumbbell Test Method was introduced in its early-age from pouring. Dumbbell Test Method is able to evaluate the effect of fly ash with different grades and dosage on volume stability of airport pavement concrete. In this paper, the method of melting snow on airport pavement with carbon fibre grille reinforced composites is presented to avoid the adverse effects of snow-melting chemicals. The strength and resistance of different composites are analysed. The field snow-melting experiments of pavement in which carbon fibre grilles are embedded in different depths are conducted when the snow is heavy. The temperatures along the depth of pavement are analysed at different times. It is shown that, with an input power of 300 W m-2, the 2.6 cm thick snow can be melted within 4 hours, which is just for melting snow at this condition. The snow-melting of 5 cm embedded depth of carbon fibre grille is better. The findings indicate that the method of melting snow on airport pavement containing the grille made of carbon fibre heating wires and steel bar is feasible in the snowy weather condition. © 2015 W. Due to the characteristics of long period and complicated project, in order to display and manage the airport project in a comprehensive and visual way, it is imperative to establish an application system in 3D airport simulation in advance. This system is just based on this theory and developed by adopting 3DS MAX and Sketchup modeling tool and utilizing OpenGL 3D engine based on the development language Visual C++. The system realizes 3D informationized display and management of airport.
