The synthesis of tert-butanol from isobutene-contained C4 raffmate and deionized water was achieved over ion exchange resins with desirable macropores and thermal stability in a catalytic distillation column. Effects of reaction pressure, temperature, space velocity of the C4 raffinate (C4, mass fraction of isobutene 24.40%) and the molar ratio of H2O to C4 on the conversion of isobutene to tert-butanol were studied. The conversion of isobutene and the selectivity of tert-butanol reached 80.07% and 99.96%, respectively, under the conditions of temperature 79℃, pressure 1.0 MPa, the space velocity of C4 0.3 h-1, molar ratio of H2O to C4 5:1, and ratio of top-feeding water to middle-feeding water at 5:2. The obtained results were much better than the conversional hydration of isobutene with a conversion of 60%-75%. Besides, the components of the off-gas and residue in the bottom of reactor from experiment were consistent with the simulation results by Aspen Plus. © 2015, Editorial Board of Journal of Chemical Reaction Engineering and Technology. The synthesis of monoglycerides from fatty acids and glycerol catalyzed by self-made ionic liquid was investigated using 1,4-dioxane as solvent. The optimal process conditions were obtained by single factor experiments as follows:glycerin/fatty acids molar ratio of 7,the amount of catalyst and solventCbased on the total materials) was 8% and 50% ,respectively,reaction temperature in the range of -140- 150°C and a reaction time of 3 h. The abrasion resistance of monoglycerides was evaluated, and the results showed that when low sulfur diesel fuel containing 80 ug/g monoglycerides,it could meet the abrasion resistance requirement of EN 590 standard for automobile diesel fuel in Europe.

The esterification process of acidified oil with glycerol was thoroughly investigated by varying reaction temperature, molar ratio of glycerol to the free fatty acids in oil and the monoglyceride content in starting materials. It is found that monoglyceride can significantly promote the reaction process and lead to a much lower content of fatty acids in the product. This is elucidated by the additional analysis of experimental liquid-liquid equilibrium data for the binary systems of triglycerides-glycerin, oleic acid-glycerol and monoglyceride-glycerol, as well as the ternary phase diagram of glycerol-monoglyceride-oleic acid system. The comparison between the above ternary and binary systems clearly indicates that the appearance of monoglyceride remarkably improves the solubility of both glycerol and fatty acids in its counter phase, which can account for the observed promotion effect of monoglyceride in the esterification process of acidified oil.

To study the impact of alkali earth metal oxides on the performance of isobutane dehydro genation by Cr system catalyst, the Cr2O 3/ Al2O3 and Cr2O 3/Al2O3 CaO catalysts were prepared by incipient wetness impregnation. The performance was evaluated and BET, XRD, NH3 TPD were used to characterize the catalysts. As a conclusion, the active ingredient Cr2O3 plays an important role in the catalysis process of isobutane dehydrogenation. Alkalinity or acidity of the carrier has a great influence on the selectivity of isobutane dehydrogenation. The addition of CaO can modify the surface properties crystalline structure and surface acidity of catalyst in different extent and thus improve the selectivity of the target product as well. At the content of Cr2O3 and CaO are 20 % and 5%, the conversion and the selectivity are 25.31% and 91.08%, respectively.

C20 Guerbet alcohol was synthesized fromn-decanol over Ni-Al alloy catalyst, KOH catalyst, and Ni-Al alloy catalyst with KOH, respectively. The results indicated that the mechanism of Guerbet reaction over KOH was different from that over Ni-Al alloy catalyst with KOH. The dehydrogenate activity of metal catalyst was promoted by the synergistic effect of Ni-Al alloy and KOH. It was difficult to dehydrogenate n-decanol to form decanal catalyzed by metal catalyst only under normal pressure in liquid phase. © 2016, Editorial Board of Journal of Chemical Reaction Engineering and Technology.
