Inspired by the ternary structure of natural nacre, robust ternary artificial nacre is constructed through synergistic toughening of graphene oxide (GO) and molybdenum disulfide (MoS2) nanosheets via a vacuum-assisted filtration self-assembly process. The synergistic toughening effect from high mechanical properties of GO and lubrication of MoS2 nanosheets is successfully demonstrated. Meanwhile, the artificial nacre shows high electrical conductivity. This approach for constructing robust artificial nacre by synergistic effect from GO and MoS2 provides a creative opportunity for designing and fabricating integrated artificial nacre in the near future, and this kind of ternary artificial nacre has great potential applications in aerospace, flexible supercapacitor electrodes, artificial muscle, and tissue engineering. © 2015 American Chemical Society.

A large gap was acquired between electrodes (up to 5.5 mm) of Ar atmospheric pressure glow discharge in radio frequency dielectric barrier discharge (rf-DBD). The discharge of Ar plasma was characterized by I-V curve and Lissajous plot, and the effective power of the discharge was calculated based on the measured Lissajous plot and found to be higher than 90% of the input power. To gain a thorough understanding of the mechanism, the rf-DBD with a single dielectric barrier layer operating in γ mode glow discharge of N2 plasma was diagnosed in spatial resolution through optical emission spectroscopy. It was concluded that secondary electron emission might be responsible for the sustainable glow discharge in the large gap rf-DBD plasma. © 2010 American Institute of Physics.

Professional skills are important to students who major in physical education (PE). They must be able to conduct the tasks required by the teaching of physical activities. Evaluation of the student's skills can offer a theoretical basis for measuring a PE course, but an effective evaluation method is lacking. Therefore, an evaluation method based on the grey system theory is proposed in this article. First, the educational structure of the PE is discussed; second, the mathematical model of grey system theory is presented; and third, the structure of the professional skills evaluation model of students majoring in PE education is presented. The evaluation index system, the results of which are drawn from a questionnaire distributed to 800 students, and the evaluation programme, is put forward. A case study was carried out, the results of which show that the evaluation method outlined here can contribute to improving overall standards in the course. © 2013 WIETE.

Objectives To investigate the effectiveness of a 6-month Liuzijue qigong (LQG) program in promoting physical and psychosocial function in individuals with chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD). Design Single-blind, randomized controlled trial. Setting Seven hospital respiratory care centers in Beijing. Participants Individuals with COPD (N = 126; mean age 71.1 ± 2.7, range 65-85). Methods Participants were randomly assigned to one of two groups: LQG (n = 63) and control (n = 63). Subjects in the LQG group received a LQG program consisting of four 45-minute sessions each week and daily walking for 30 minutes for 6 months. Control subjects walked daily for 30 minutes. Data collection was performed at baseline, at 6 weeks, and at 6 months. Primary outcomes involved functional capacity, and secondary outcomes involved quality of life. Results The LQG group had greater improvements in the 6-minute walk test (P =.02); specific airway conductance (P =.02); monitored functional task evaluation (P =.04); Medical Outcomes Study 36-item Short-Form Health Survey (SF-36; general health (P <.001), mental health (P =.03)); Chronic Respiratory Questionnaire (dyspnea (P =.05), emotion (P =.05), and mastery (P =.04) at 6-month follow-up. After 6 months, the control group had significant improvement only on the SF-36 mental health (P =.02). Conclusion LQG promoted functional capacity and quality of life in older adults with COPD at 6 months and is a good alternative home exercise program for older adults in the rehabilitation of COPD. © 2015 The American Geriatrics Society.

A series of triphenylene-based discotic dimers have been synthesized, each of the triphenylene nuclei bears five β-OC4H9 substituents, which are linked through the remaining β-positions by a flexible O(CH2)nO polymethylene chain (n = 2-12). Their chemical structures were confirmed by proton nuclear magnetic resonance spectroscopy, Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy, high-resolution mass spectrometry and elemental analysis. The mesomorphic properties of these compounds were investigated by differential scanning calorimetry, polarizing optical microscopy and X-ray diffraction. It was found that these dimers for which n > 4 formed a highly ordered columnar plastic phase and some of them (n = 6, 7, 10, 11, and 12) exhibited multiple mesophases. This is the first time that the rectangular columnar plastic phase was defined by us as a novel liquid crystal phase of compound 4d (n = 5). The introduction of a single interconnecting chain between adjacent molecules does not significantly perturb the formation of a columnar plastic phase but enriches the mesophases of discotic molecules and hinders the crystallization; the mesophases of 4e-k (n = 6-12) can be supercooled into a glass state in which the self-assembly columnar structures are retained. © 2014 The Royal Society of Chemistry.

In order to evaluate the health test results of Chinese college students and the application of the fuzzy analytic hierarchy process on it is studied in depth. First, the basic theory of the fuzzy analytic hierarchy process method is analyzed. Second, the numerical analysis of evaluating the college students test results based on the fuzzy analytic hierarchy process is carried out, and the five aspects of the college students' health are sorted according theirs importance. And the results show fuzzy analytic hierarchy process is feasible in evaluating the health test results of the Chinese college students, and is advantageous to a reasonable way to test the healthy of college students.

In order to characterize tension and establish control strategy of web press, a precise dynamical model of winding tension is established by analyzing a shaftless multiple unit web press experiment platform. Several simulation models are developed based on MATLAB which are winding tension module, diameter real-time calculation module, taper tension reference value module and servo motor module. A cascade double closed-loop of PID controller is used in the system. A complete winding tension simulation model of web press driven by servo motor is developed. Simulated results are presented through tuning parameters of the main control loop and vice control loop. Multi perturbation factors of winding tension involved in the simulation system makes the simulation model more close to the real web press system and builds a more precise and convenient simulation platform for bringing the advance control strategy to winding tension system of web press. © 2012 Chinese Assoc of Automati.

In order to choose a best training means of the swimmers and improve the training effect of the swimmers and the application of fuzzy comprehensive evaluation method on it is studied in depth. First, the basic procedure of the single fuzzy comprehensive evaluation method is studied. Second, the basic theory of fuzzy comprehensive evaluation method is analyzed, and the mathematical model of the multistage fuzzy comprehensive evaluation method is established according to the disadvantages of the traditional single fuzzy comprehensive evaluation method. Finally, the case study is carried out based on multistage fuzzy comprehensive evaluation method, and the results show that this method had a correctness of the evaluation of the training effect of the swimmers.


In this paper, we report a novel ligand equipped with both electron-pushing moieties and enlarged conjugation planes, 1-benzo[b]thiophen-2-yl-naphthalene- 2-ol (BYNO). Using BYNO as the ancillary ligand, its corresponding Ir(III) complex of Ir(ppy)2(BYNO) (ppy=2-phenyl pyridine) is also synthesized. An efficient deep-red emission peaking at 620 nm with a narrow emission band (full-width-at-half-maximum=65 nm) was finally observed from Ir(ppy)2(BYNO). We discuss the photophysical properties, thermal properties, geometric and electronic structures of Ir(ppy)2(BYNO) in detail. In addition, its electroluminescence performances are investigated and a maximum luminance of 3840 cd/m2 peaking at 618 nm is achieved. All obtained data suggest that Ir(ppy)2(BYNO) is a promising candidate for red-emitting dopants in organic light emitting diodes. © 2010 Elsevier B.V. All rights reserved.

In order to overcome the discontinuance of the hard thresholding function and the defect of seriously slashing singularity in the soft thresholding function, improve the denoising effect and detect the transformer partial discharge signal more accurately, in this paper an improved wavelet threshold denoising method is put forward through analyzing the interference noise of transformer partial discharge signals and studying various wavelet threshold denoising method, especially the wavelet threshold denoising method that overcomes the shortcomings of the hard and soft threshold. Simulation results show that the denoising effect of this method has been greatly improved than the traditional hard and soft threshold method. This method can be widely used in practical transformer partial discharge signal denoising. © 2013 ACADEMY PUBLISHER.
