Aiming at structural features and project information management requirements of prefabricated and assembled residential building in our country, combining with the application of BIM (building information modeling) technology, prefabricated and assembled residential building project construction information management platform was researched and developed. Firstly, the content and significance of building information management platform were overviewed. Research and development goals of platform were specified. Then, the overall architecture of the platform and research roadmap were set up. Finally, the construction and function of the platform were discussed. The main contents include deepen design phase, PC component production stage, site construction phase, project progress monitoring and the operation and maintenance information management. The information management platform provides technology foundation for updating design method in depth, achieving whole construction process control, and providing convenience for component management and information retrieval at operation stage. Also, design efficiency is raised, total construction time is shortened, and maintenance costs at operation stage is reduced. Finally, goals of building industrialization and housing industrialization can be truly achieved. ©, 2014, Science Press. All right reserved.
