Composted sewage sludge can be applied to land to improve soil physical properties and supply nutrients. In this study we use the case of sewage sludge compost applied to the abandon mine located in the Taoyuan Village of Mentougou District of Beijing to supply and illustrate that a new way to improve the mine restoration soil which also could have serviceability to deal with the city sludge. Experimental results showed sewage sludge compost application produced positive effects on the nutrient contents of soil and increased with increasing fertilizing amount.Considering the heavy metals accumulation in mine soil and there availability for crops, the Zn and Hg should be played more attention on the sewage sludge compost application in abandoned mine. © (2013) Trans Tech Publications, Switzerland.

In order to probe anticlogging effect of ultrasonication for circulation water of blast furnace, the effect of ultrasonic frequency, powder and velocity of circulating water on Ca 2+ concentration was investigated using the orthogonal method. The results show that the primary factor is ultrasonic frequency; the secondary factor is velocity of circulating water and the last one is ultrasonic powder. Under the condition of ultrasonic frequency of 30 kHz, velocity of circulating water of 0.6 m/s and ultrasonic power of 400 W, the best anticlogging effect can be obtained (the contact area between energy converter and circulating water pipe is 100 W/cm 2). For example, the Ca 2+ concentration can reach 84.2 mg/L after 8 hours. The regression function of electric conductivity to time under ultrasonication is obtained. The energy consumption is 3.571 kW·h in 8 hours test and the efficiency is 89.6%.

This paper focused on the ultrasonication treatment on blast furnace circulating water, which adopting the orthogonal method to research the variation of Ca2+ concentration in different ultrasonic frequency, power and velocity of circulating water. The results indicated the primary sequence is ultrasonic frequency, velocity of circulating water and ultrasonic power, the best combination is ultrasonic frequency: 30kHz, velocity of circulating water: 0.6m/s, and ultrasonic power:400W(100W/cm2). Analysis the relation between ultrasonic frequency, ultrasonic power and time under ultrasonication, the Ca2+ concentration is 84.2 mg/L when the ultrasonic frequency 30kHz, velocity of circulating water 0.6m/s and ultrasonic power 400W, the effect of anti-scaling is obviously. The regression function of electric conductivity to time under ultrasonication is: Y=-250.1lnx+1352.6, R2=0.9877. When ultrasonic power at 400W, the energy consumption is 3.571kW/h, and the test time is 8 hours, the efficiency is 89.6%.

Two main PBDEs that have potential endocrine disrupting properties—2,2,4,4′-tetrabromodiphenyl ether (BDE-47) and 2,2′,4,4′,5-tetrabromodiphenyl ether (BDE-99)—have been detected in environmental samples and have drawn public attention. In a single solute system, three aquifer media, Beijing river aquifer media, Beijing farmland soil, and Fujian farmland soil (FN), with different properties were collected as the main sorbents to investigate the sorption and desorption characteristic of BDE-47. The results indicate that a two-compartment first-order model could adequately describe the sorption kinetics of BDE-47. FN has the largest adsorption capacity, showing that a high organic matter content could improve the soil adsorption capability. In binary-solute systems, a series of BDE-99 with different concentration suppresses the sorption of BDE-47. The result indicates that the sorption capacity of BDE-47 significantly decreases with the increasing concentration of BDE-99, and the decreasing tendency becomes more obvious when the content of BDE-47 is high. By contrast, BDE-47 does not show a competitive sorption effect on BDE-99 sorption. The BDE-47 desorption from soils exhibits hysteresis with the addition of BDE-99, especially for FN. These results could be used to predict a potential pathway for the removal of PBDEs and for the evaluation of ecological risks when using reclaimed municipal wastewater. © 2016 Balaban Desalination Publications. A profile of the soil samples around a typical crude oil sludge storage site of Jianghan Oil Field of China were collected and analyzed. We used the UE-GC/FID method to analyze qualitatively and quantitatively the 16 kinds of PAHs which were controlled priory by the U.S.EPA. The results showed that the study area was polluted severely by PAHs. The main pollutants were naphthalene, acenaphthylene, fluorene, phenathrene, chrysene, benzo(b) fluoranthene, benzo(k)fluoranthene, benzo(a)pyrene, indeno (1,2,3,-cd) pyrene,dibenzo (a,h) anthracene, benzo (g,h,i) perylene, while the amount of acenaphthene, fluoranthene, pyrene and benzo (a) anthracene was relatively low. The peak values of PAHs in the profiles appeared in the range of 30-40 cm, was 1899 ng g-1. The ability of different PAHs components to transport downward changed in the profile, which was characterized as 2 rings PAHs>3 rings PAHs>4 rings PAHs>5 rings PAHs>6 rings PAHs. © 2011 Published by Elsevier Ltd.

Environmental hormone mainly cause harm to the reproductive function of human being and animal kingdom, which is a serious threat to human and animal survival or reproduction. This paper blacklisted 70 kinds of environmental hormones, studied pollution situation of some environmental hormone (which are remaining in the atmosphere, water, sediment, soil, seafood and human tissue) in Chinese Environment and population, and outlined the environmental hormone pollution hazards. Therefore, China should strengthen basic research in environmental hormone pollution, strengthen the environmental management and the publicity of environmental law to curb environmental hormone pollution. In addition, some legislative measures should be proposed, laws and regulations of environmental hormones should be formulated, and the law enforcement should be strengthen to control environmental hormones. © 2011 Published by Elsevier Ltd.

The 10 organophosphorus pesticides in fish can be rapidly extracted and separated by gel permeation chromatography, and the lipin and organophosphorus pesticides of fish can be seperated. The interfering matters can be well eliminated in this condition, and analysis is more rapid than other methods. The residues of 10 organophosphorus pesticides at same time can be identified and quantified simultaneously by GC-PFPD. This method is simple, rapid, and the average recovery ratios were 71.7%-80.9%.Good repeatability was obtained in all the cases with relative standard deviations (RSDs) lower 11%, and limit of detection was0.0003-0.004 mg·kg-1.

This paper takes the urban sewage as treatment target, analyses chemical phosphorous removal effect of PFS, PAC, PAFSI, PAFC and the PAFC which is used by Wu Family Village sewage treatment plant. Taking into consideration of the economic factors in actual operation, the author proposed that the PAFC used by Wu Family Village sewage treatment plant should be served as a chemical auxiliary medicament, under β ≤ 4.33 conditions, β values and effluent TP concentration showed a good correlation. In this paper, the mixing intensity, mixing time, dosage and pH are treated as mainly investigate factors, the four factors and three levels orthogonal test is established. The flocculation conditions of best treatment effect on the effluent TP are as follows: mixing intensity is 200 r/min, stirring time is 90s, dosage is 220 mg / L and pH is 6. According to the characteristics of a buried sewage treatment system, the start-up of high concentration microbial agents in dealing with analog household sewage was studied in a biofilm reactor. When the chemical oxygen demand, ammonia nitrogen, and total phosphorus are 750, 48 and 7.5 mg·L-1, the removal rates of them are 85%, 58%, and 35% after operation for 10 d, respectively. Optical microscopy and environmental scanning electron microscopy observations show that with the system removal rate increasing, the microbial species gradually changes. The results of polymerase chain reaction-denature gradient gel electrophoresis (PCR-DGGE) demonstrate that the microbial species on volcanic rocks and suspended fillers are abundant, and the microbial community changes under different conditions, but the whole system of microorganisms maintains relatively stable.

Considering characteristics of soy sauce production process and the equipment in JinShiLongMen Brewery, a series of energy-saving technology solutions, including secondary recovery of residual steam in steaming process, heat recovery in high temperature soy sauce cooling process, insulation of high temperature salt water tank and insulation of steam pipeline, was developed. After the implementation of these solutions, the system runs stably and experimental testing analysis shows that the annual amount of residual heat recovered by secondary recovery of residual steam in steaming process was 9.635×108 kJ, amounting to reduce steam cost RMB79,100 Yuan, recovered in high temperature soy sauce cooling process was 1.839×109 kJ, amounting to reduce steam cost RMB151,100 Yuan. The results show that the energy saving technologies achieved good economic and environmental benefits and are applied to the same industry. © (2013) Trans Tech Publications, Switzerland.
