The aim of this research was to present the state of the educational system in vocational schools in Serbia and prospects for further development of computer design. The paper analyses comparative results in our country and the developed countries in terms of computer implementaition degree as a teaching tool in education.Based on the results compared with global trends of development of education in this area, the research shows deficiencies in our educational system and proposes certain measures for their overcoming.

This research paper presents the results of the empirical research on the influence of the competence of teachers-lecturers on the quality of professional education in Bosnia and Herzegovina according to the orientations of teachers. The research is based on the methods of the theoretical anlysis and the survey research method in which polling questionnaire was applied, designed for the needs of this research. The examinee sample consisted of 75 teachers from 10 vocational high schools on the territory of Bosnia and Herzegovina. The result of the application of the theoretical analysis and survey research method lead to a conclusion that the quality of the professional education is influenced by competences of teachers, as well as other factors such as: modular curricula, management, material resources, finances, etc. Due to the opinion that the teachers with their competences are the most responsible factors for the quality of education, that is, for poor quality of education in Bosnia and Hercegovina, according to many critics, our research among teachers themselves seeks a confimation that their competences influence the quality. Therefore, scientific information offered in this research can be useful for the evaluation of the influence of teachers' competences on the quality of the professional education.

This paper presents the basic ideas for programming the maintenance of complex technical systems, which is a set of rules for determining the diagnostic mode of the constituent parts of the system in the actual exploitation process and decision making regarding the need for their replacement or on the extent of the necessary maintenance based on the information of the actual technical condition of the system. Assuming that the condition based maintenance is, in fact, the management system of the technical state of the system in the exploitation process, upon choosing the strategy for the condition based maintenance we have performed an analysis of the applicability of formed variants of the maintenance programme and evaluated their efficiency by comparing them with basic indicators (for corrective and preventive maintenance). We have pointed out the importance of using the described maintenance programme to increase reliability level and decrease the stagnation of technical systems, which results in high efficiency, and thus increases the productivity of companies where the systems have been installed. © 2012 Journal of Mechanical Engineering.

This paper describes a model of optimization of the technical diagnostics process, that is, a model for monitoring the state of electrical power system components, namely turbo generators in the real process of exploitation and decision-making on procedures of preventive maintenance. By applying the model it is possible to monitor the state of parts of the system comprising essential parameters for measuring the state and providing conditions for the optimization of the technical diagnostic process of individual components of the system. The model can solve the basic dependence of changes in the state parameters, provide the characteristics of the reliability of components and output parameters of the turbogenerator state. We have pointed out the importance of using the described model and its contribution to decreasing delays in the electrical power system, which results in prolongation of the lifetime of components and a high level of efficiency of turbogenerators.
