Betonwerk und Fertigteil-Technik/Concrete Plant and Precast Technology | Year: 2013
More than 80 different element designs were used on the ground floor and first floor of the 17-story German headquarters of French oil corporation Total, which were to be thoroughly dealt with in terms of both design and engineering to meet the extremely demanding client specifications. The technical specifications for the fastening and assembly of the precast architectural concrete elements on the cast-in-situ faĉade were thoroughly verified and prepared, as well as the details of the connections to the glass facade panels and of the interfaces between the individual trades to be coordinated. Particular emphasis was put on the verification of the contacts/transitions to subsequent works. Reusable formwork was chosen with a view to the large number of elements (1,395), the 41 different types of shuttering with 130 form variants and a daily production output of 25 elements. The up to 7.35 m long I- or T-shaped elements were acid-washed at a dedicated roofed work station sheltered from wind.
