The binary and ternary complexes of ytterbium(III) were synthesized with 1-(9-anthracenyl)-3-trifluoromethyl-1,3-propanedione as the first ligand, 1,10-phenanthroline as the second ligand. The ligand and rare earth complexes were characterized by elemental analysis, IR spectra and fluorescence spectra. The results show that the Yb3+ characterization emission has not been observed in the spectra of the binary complex YbA2·2H2O and the ternary complex YbA3 phen. The fluorescence of the complexes belongs to ligand. But the luminescence intensity of the binary complex is stronger than that of the ternary complex. Background: In rubber tree, bark is one of important agricultural and biological organs. However, the molecular mechanism involved in the bark formation and development in rubber tree remains largely unknown, which is at least partially due to lack of bark transcriptomic and genomic information. Therefore, it is necessary to carried out high-throughput transcriptome sequencing of rubber tree bark to generate enormous transcript sequences for the functional characterization and molecular marker development.Results: In this study, more than 30 million sequencing reads were generated using Illumina paired-end sequencing technology. In total, 22,756 unigenes with an average length of 485 bp were obtained with de novo assembly. The similarity search indicated that 16,520 and 12,558 unigenes showed significant similarities to known proteins from NCBI non-redundant and Swissprot protein databases, respectively. Among these annotated unigenes, 6,867 and 5,559 unigenes were separately assigned to Gene Ontology (GO) and Clusters of Orthologous Group (COG). When 22,756 unigenes searched against the Kyoto Encyclopedia of Genes and Genomes Pathway (KEGG) database, 12,097 unigenes were assigned to 5 main categories including 123 KEGG pathways. Among the main KEGG categories, metabolism was the biggest category (9,043, 74.75%), suggesting the active metabolic processes in rubber tree bark. In addition, a total of 39,257 EST-SSRs were identified from 22,756 unigenes, and the characterizations of EST-SSRs were further analyzed in rubber tree. 110 potential marker sites were randomly selected to validate the assembly quality and develop EST-SSR markers. Among 13 Hevea germplasms, PCR success rate and polymorphism rate of 110 markers were separately 96.36% and 55.45% in this study.Conclusion: By assembling and analyzing de novo transcriptome sequencing data, we reported the comprehensive functional characterization of rubber tree bark. This research generated a substantial fraction of rubber tree transcriptome sequences, which were very useful resources for gene annotation and discovery, molecular markers development, genome assembly and annotation, and microarrays development in rubber tree. The EST-SSR markers identified and developed in this study will facilitate marker-assisted selection breeding in rubber tree. Moreover, this study also supported that transcriptome analysis based on Illumina paired-end sequencing is a powerful tool for transcriptome characterization and molecular marker development in non-model species, especially those with large and complex genomes. © 2012 2012 Li et al.; licensee BioMed Central Ltd.

The abilities to trigger and guide high-voltage discharge by using single and multiple filaments (MFs) are experimentally studied. It is shown that the discharge voltage threshold can be reduced significantly in both regimes of single and MF; however, the MF does not gain a larger reduction than a single filament. This behavior of the MF is attributed to the single discharge path rather than simultaneous multiple ones as one might expect during the discharge process. © 2012 Optical Society of America.

Adomian polynomials are constituted of reduced polynomials and derivatives of nonlinear operator. The reduced polynomials are independent of the form of the nonlinear operator. A recursive algorithm of the reduced polynomials is discovered and its symbolic implementation by the software Mathematica is given. As a result, a new and convenient algorithm for the Adomian polynomials is obtained. Copyright © 2010 Tech Science Press.

The Pr3+/TiO2 photocatalyst with different amounts of doped Pr3+ and calcination temperatures are synthesized by sol-gel method and characterized by XRD, FT-IR and SEM. Basic fuchsin experiment is chosen to evaluate photocatalyst activity. The results show that the synthesized samples are anatase TiO2 with the Pr3+ doped. While it has been found that rare earth interrupts the transformation from anatase to rutile. Photocatlytic experiment results show when the sample is calcined at 400 ℃, containing 0.2% Pr3+/TiO2 and 1 mL 30%H2O2, without lighting, and t=120 min, the degradation rate is 100%. ©, 2015, Chongqing Medical University. In this paper we develop the Runge-Kutta discontinuous Galerkin finite element method for two-dimensional compressible gas dynamic equations in unified coordinate. The equations for fluid dynamics and geometry conservation laws are solved simultaneously. All the calculations can be performed on the fixed meshes. The information about the grid velocities is not needed in calculation. Some numerical examples are given to evaluate the efficiency and the reliability of the scheme. The numerical results show that the algorithm works well. © 2012 Chinese Physical Society.

In this paper, a Petrov - Galerkin scheme named the Runge - Kutta control volume (RKCV) discontinuous finite element method is constructed to solve the one-dimensional compressible Euler equations in the Lagrangian coordinate. Its advantages include preservation of the local conservation and a high resolution. Compared with the Runge - Kutta discontinuous Galerkin (RKDG) method, the RKCV method is easier to implement. Moreover, the advantages of the RKCV and the Lagrangian methods are combined in the new method. Several numerical examples are given to illustrate the accuracy and the reliability of the algorithm. © 2013 Chinese Physical Society and IOP Publishing Ltd.

In this paper, Runge - Kutta Discontinuous Galerkin (RKDG) finite element method is presented to solve the one-dimensional inviscid compressible gas dynamic equations in a Lagrangian coordinate. The equations are discretized by the DG method in space and the temporal discretization is accomplished by the total variation diminishing Runge - Kutta method. A limiter based on the characteristic field decomposition is applied to maintain stability and non-oscillatory property of the RKDG method. For multi-medium fluid simulation, the two cells adjacent to the interface are treated differently from other cells. At first, a linear Riemann solver is applied to calculate the numerical flux at the interface. Numerical examples show that there is some oscillation in the vicinity of the interface. Then a nonlinear Riemann solver based on the characteristic formulation of the equation and the discontinuity relations is adopted to calculate the numerical flux at the interface, which suppresses the oscillation successfully. Several single-medium and multi-medium fluid examples are given to demonstrate the reliability and efficiency of the algorithm. © 2013 Chinese Physical Society and IOP Publishing Ltd.
