The automobile stamping molds are composed of two materials, the punch die and the die shoe is made of ductile iron and grey iron, respectively. The dual-gating system was adopted for pouring die shoe and punch die. This technology can reduce the waste of cost for producing the whole die by ductile iron, and also settle the design difficulty as processing and assembly work should be done when the punch and die shoe were produced separately. The temperatures from casting pouring to solidification were tested by using of hot heat electric couple, and the cooling curve was drew in order to calculate shakeout time, prevent defect and increase production efficiency. Moving and shakeout flask time of different weight grey cast iron were obtained. The quality of castings meet requirement by adjusting process on the basis of the cooling curve of the castings.
