The precision casting process was adopted to U type screw pressure diffuser, due to the casting structure is complex, the wall thickness difference is big, the shell preparation and the clear shell technology are poor. The technology was improved: first 3 times before the mold shell have been manufacturing by the zirconium sand, zirconium powder with high degree of refractory and the control of slurry viscosity to complete, then the channel has been blocked at both ends of the diffuser by refractory mud composed of magnesium powder, magnesium powder and water glass. In the annular confined flow channel, the filling angle of the large zirconium sand is filled in the mold shell by shaking, the shell preparation and clean shell of U type spiral diffuser has been solved. ©, 2015, Chinese Mechanical Engineering Society. 1.4408 austenite stainless steel RZ15212 drainage disc with 5.7 kg in weight is composed of countersink, counterbore, sinking-groove, ring-counterbore, complex drainage outlet and drainage channel. There exists seven different shape process bars with 8 mm in depth. It is difficult to investment cast drainage disc due to its large planar structure. Different gating system-assembling tree design was considered. Through modifying gating process and adding process umbilical on the planar, designing a bracket to improve the deformation of mold shell, the RZ15212 drainage disc was produced successfully with a higher production rate.

The U type spiral booster diffuser is a key component of the complex structure of the new high pressure pump with thin wall. The precision casting process was adopted for U spiral booster diffuser, and the cleaning sand is very difficult. Therefore, the cleaning shell process has been designed with ultra high pressure hydro-blasting. The problem of cleaning sand for U type spiral booster diffuser was solved by designing high pressure hydro-blasting room and process equipment, and with the help of handmade carbon arc air gouging, special file, and product correction tool. ©, 2015, Chinese Mechanical Engineering Society. PASX410 flow divider is made of SUS440 stainless steel, whose shape is hollow ring structure with eight ribs and eight holes in the inner, exhibiting complicated shape. Wax pattern with CO(NH2)2 core shows low production rate and high waste rate. Wax pattern structure was re-designed. Up-part and down-part of the wax pattern were made, respectively, and then they were assembled together. Special designing and manufacturing method was adopted to ensure the location accuracy and interchangeability of up-part and down-part pattern. Through using wax solvent and repairing agent in wax assembling, assembling reliability and precision were ensured. In addition, mold shell baking and pouring process were strictly controlled. Through above measures, investment casting PASX410 flow divider met the designed requirements.

The tolerance of the main installed dimension of C2, C2K typed blade fram of scraper for conveyor is required to be CT2∼3 class. Through adjusting mould dimension, making the draft angle of some key location in the mould to 0, using side-core-board and push-out mechanism to take out the wax pattern, designing hard-wax core to reduce shaping error of the wax pattern as well as using special knife to repair the wax pattern, and setting rational wax pattern assembling tree, pouring with a higher temperature, CT2∼3 class accuracy can be realized in the key location in the heat treated investment castings after controlling geometric tolerance with dedicated gauges and C shaped plate.

Manufacturing of square hole in investment casting stainless operation handles by broaching, punching hole and extrusion method was introduced, and machining experiment of the square hole was conducted. The practical production shows that the square hole in the investment casting stainless manufactured by extrusion method exhibits the advantages of low product cost, rapid manufacturing and high machining precision.

Roles of different elements in austenitic stainless steel were described. CrE/NiE equivalent was calculated by the empirical formula. Ferritic content in the austenitic stainless steel was estimated by the CrE/NiE relation diagram. Magnetic permeability of the castings was measured with magnetic permeability instrument. Nonlinear relationship between CrE/NiE, ferritic content and magnetic permeability was verified.
