Present work is comparative study of synthesis of 2-amino- 1, 3, 4-Thiodiazole with respect to yield, reaction time and reaction conditions. Armyl derivatives of Coumarins have been synthesized by Duff formylation method, in this method hydroxyl Coumarins was reacted with hexamethylene tetramine (HMTA) in presence of tri-fluoroacetic acid (TFAA) under microwave irradiation techniques. The structures of all synthesized compounds were confirmed by IR, NMR, Mass and CHN analysis. This is a newly developed efficient synthesis of formyl Coumarins under microwave irradiation technique by Duff formylation method. Source

Dielectric constant ε' and dielectric loss ε'' of seawater samples collected during the winter monsoon from Tropical Indian Ocean are measured. The Von Hippel method is used to measure dielectric properties, both real, ε' , and imaginary part, ε'', at 5 GHz and 30 °C using automated C-Band microwave bench set up. The dielectric constant ε' and dielectric loss ε'' are calculated using least square fitting technique. The salinity measurement of seawater samples are done on autosalinometer. Making use of salinity values of all samples and for 5 GHz and 30 °C, static dielectric constant and dielectric loss are estimated by Klein-Swift model and Ellison et al. model. Experimental and theoretical results are compared. The laboratory data obtained are significant for remote sensing applications in physical oceanography. © 2013 IEEE. Source

8-ethoxy-3-acetyl coumarin 1, thiosemicarbazide 2 was condensed under microwave irradition gives 2-(1-(8-ethoxy- 2-oxo-2H-chromen-3-yl) ethylidene) hydrazinecarbothioamide 3 then 3, chloroacetyl chloride 4, substituted aryl aldehydes 5, were condensed in presence of alum catalyst to formed 5-benzylidene-2-((E)-(1-(8-ethoxy-2-oxo-2Hchromen- 3yl)ethylidene)hydrazono) thiazolidin-4-one 6, by simple grinding technique at room temperature under solvent free condition. Synthesized compounds were confirmed by IR, NMR, Mass and CHN analysis. Source
