The normal and emergence maximal load prediction should take into account the moisture of solid insulation. The article discusses the method of moisture estimation using data collected by on-line monitoring system and the equilibrium moisture curves between oil and solid insulation. The mathematical model is also presented to determine the transformer load ability in emergency situations, using its operational parameters and insulation moisture.

The article describes experiences from the use of a system for partial discharge monitoring in power transformer, which is based on the acoustic emission method. The system can work in standalone mode for short-term monitoring (emergency) and work in collaboration mode with the principal system (Mikronika SYNDIS ES), responsible for monitoring the entire transformer, what brings many unique features. Both variants are presented on selected examples.
