Introduction: Salmonellosis is one ot the most frequently food relayed infection. The most frequently population group because of salmonellosis are children at the age of 0-4 year old. Salmonellosis has a typical seasonal character with maximum in summer months. The most frequently etiology agent is S. enteritidis, which caused the epidemics. Trend of salmonellosis in Slovakia has a decreasing character since 1998. Objectives: The main aim of this works was to performed detail epidemiological analysis of salmonellosis and assessed the prognosis of sickness development and proposes the arrangements to solution of salmonellosis in the district. Material and methodology: In this work was performed an descriptive and retrospective analysis of salmonellosis infection development in the district of Rimavská Sobota in years 1998-2007. Primary epidemiological data were available from the list of the epidemiological examination. We created a data-base in the Epilnfo program versions 3.5.1 for Windows. In this program we created an enter mask. The number of dates was 2437. For a statistical data processing we used the software programs: Epilnfo, Excel, MS Office, Swiffchart, Stagraphics Centurion XV Professional. Conclusion: Average salmonellosis morbidity was 296/100 000 in Rimavská Sobota district in 10-years horizon. The highest morbidity was in year 1999 (579.64/100000). Prognosis of morbidity in Rimavska Sobota district predicts constant trend. Salmonellosis morbidity was in the ethnic minority 1.05 times higher than in the other population. It is demonstrated statistically significant difference in the seasonal morbidity. The highest morbidity was in age group 0 years.
