∅200 mm Ti6246 alloy bar was solutioned at different temperatures and aged at 593 ℃, and effects of solution temperature on microstructure and mechanical properties of the alloy were investigated. The results indicate that when the solution temperature is in the range of 860-900 ℃, the content and grain size of primary and secondary α phase have a little change, the equiaxed microstructure is obtained and the room temperature and high temperature tensile properties are not sensitive to the solution temperatures during this temperature range, but the creep property has a little increase with temperature increasing. However, the bimodal microstructure can be obtained when the solution temperature higher than 915 ℃. The content of the primary α phase decreases while the second α phase increases with increasing temperature. The room and high temperature tensile strength of the alloy decrease. Influence of microstructure of Ti6Al4V alloy on ultrasonic wave velocity was investigated. The results show that, above the transformation temperature Tβ, the cooling rate decreases, the ultrasonic wave velocity increases with the increase of α phase content, however below the Tβ, the morphology of the secondary phase plays a decisive role but not obvious for the content of primary α phase.
