Thin films of Cd0.7Fe0.3Se have been prepared on stainless steel and fluorine doped tin oxide (FTO) coated glass substrates using electrodeposition technique. Double distilled water containing precursors of Cd, Fe and Se are used with ethylene diamine tetra-acetic acid (EDTA) disodium salt as a complexing agent to obtain good quality deposits by controlling the rate of reactions. The different preparative parameters like concentration of bath, deposition time, pH of the bath and Fe content in the bath have been optimized by photoelectrochemical (PEC) technique in order to get good quality thin films. Different techniques have been used to characterize electrodeposited Cd0.7Fe0.3Se thin films. The X-ray diffraction (XRD) analysis reveals that the films Cd0.7Fe0.3Se are polycrystalline in nature with crystallite size of 282 Å for the films deposited with optimized preparative parameters. Scanning electron microscopy (SEM) study reveals that all grains uniformly distributed over the surface of stainless steel substrate indicates well defined growth of polycrystalline Cd0.7Fe0.3Se material. Optical absorption shows the direct band gap energy of 1.84 eV. Photoelectrochemical (PEC) solar cell study shows the films of Cd0.7Fe0.3Se are more photosensitive. © 2013 IEEE. Source

Density (ρ), Excess Molar volume and Apparent Molar volume are reported for binary mixtures of Ethanol, Propan-2-ol and 2-Methyl Propan-2-ol with Propan-2-amine over entire range of mole fractions at 298.15 and 308.15 K and atmospheric pressure. The objective of the present study is to develop colon targeted drug delivery system by using polysaccharide as a carrier. Matrix tablets containing various excipients and polysaccharide were prepared by wet granulation technique using different binder systems. The matrix tablets were evaluated by different IPQC tests, content uniformity, matrix index and in vitro drug release study as per IP 1996 method. Drug index profile in simulated gastric and intestinal fluid was evaluation parameter for selecting the best formulation. Drug release profile in simulated gastric, intestinal fluid from the dissolution studies was taken for selecting the best formulation. The matrix tablet containing dextrin as a carrier and ethyl cellulose as a binder found to be suitable for targeting paracetamol for local action in the colon. Same matrix tablets released fewer amounts (8-11%) of drug in simulated gastric fluid. Matrix tablets containing dextrin released 95-98 % of paracetamol in simulated colonic fluid with 4 % human fecal matter solution. Source

Nanocrystalline pure and CuO doped ZnO thin films were prepared using spray pyrolysis technique. The zinc nitrate (0.1 M) and copper chloride (0.1 M) were used as starting precursor. These films were characterized by XRD, SEM and EDAX to observe structural, microstructural properties and elemental analysis respectively. It is observed that the average grain size was found to decrease from 190 to 90 nm, as the doping wt % of copper chloride in zinc nitrate solution goes on increasing. The sensing performances of pure and doped films were tested. The sensitivity goes on increasing with decreases in grain size (increase of copper chloride in zinc nitate solution). The maximum sensitivity of S 35 at 400 °C was found for films prepared from 10 wt % of copper chloride. © 2011 SumDU. Source

Abstract: The synthesis of propargyl amine derivatives was carried out via multicomponent reaction of substituted 1,3-diphenyl pyrazole aldehyde, phenyl acetylene, and morpholine in the presence of iron oxide-supported copper oxide nanocatalyst (Nanocat-Fe-CuO) with good yields. The Nanocat-Fe-CuO was easily separated from the products and reused to catalyze the reaction again with good yield. In the absence of catalyst reaction was not proceeding to any extent. The formation of compounds was confirmed on the basis of their IR, 1H-NMR, 13C-NMR, and mass spectral techniques.
