This study investigated the structure of the epiphytic metazoans on emerged macrophytes in the littoral zone of two oxbow lakes with different trophic levels. Differences in the diversity and density of the epiphytic metazoans were analyzed in relation to plant architecture (simple or complex stems), food resources (algae and detritus) and water characteristics (transparency and derived trophic state index). Asignificant negative correlation was found between detritus on plants as food resource, and diversity and density of epiphytic metazoans, indicating grazing of microphagous species. Rotifers dominated in diversity and density in the epiphyton on all habitats. Total density of metazoans, rotifers and copepods in epiphyton were significantly higher on Mentha in mesotrophic lake than on Iris in a eutrophic lake.We presume that macrophyte belt width and trophic state governed biotic interactions and consequently epiphytic assemblages more strongly than macrophyte architecture. However, a Mentha habitat showed a slightly higher density and diversity of epiphytic metazoans in relation to Iris at the same site, but these differences were not significant. © 2011 by Acta Botanica Croatica, the Faculty of Science, University of Zagreb. Our research team has developed a new well completion and rework technology involving lasers. The system is made up of a high-power laser generator and a custom-designed directional laser drilling head. The laser head is attached to a coiled tubing unit to maximize production and to carry out special down hole tasks. In this phase of the development effort, laser technology is particularly well suited to cost-efficiently drill short laterals from existing wells in a single work phase, drilling through the casing and cement as well as the formation. The technology, which is an extended perforation solution, enables a more intensive interaction with the down hole environment and supports cutting edge subsurface engineering scenarios such as barite removal. Laser-induced heat treatment appears to be a suitable alternative to effectively remove the almost immovable deposits and scales from thermal water-well pipes. © 2015 Akadémiai Kiadó, Budapest.


Provided are a backwashing suction device and a fabric filtering apparatus using the same, in which, when a process of removing foreign materials attached to filter cloths of the disc-shaped filter pieces is not conducted, the backwashing suction device mounted in contact with disc-shaped filter pieces is separated from the disc-shaped filter pieces, thereby preventing the filter cloths of the disc-shaped filter pieces from being pressed down for a long time by the backwashing suction device so as to be able to improve filtering efficiency of the filter cloths and to prolong a service life of the filter cloths. Further, provided are a backwashing suction device which is configured to be separated from disc-shaped filter pieces using a buoyant force, thereby providing a simple structure and a smooth operation so as to enable close contact with or separation from the disc-shaped filter pieces, and a fabric filtering apparatus using the same.


Provided are a suction apparatus for a fabric filter and a filtering device for liquid filtration using the same. A main suction slit and a sub-suction slit are provided in parallel by a partition. Thereby, pile threads undergo delayed straightening and fluctuation while going through the sub-suction slit and then are rapidly straightened in the main suction slit. Thus, a back-washing effect can be further improved.
