Abstract Four new N-acyl-2,4-bis(4-methoxyphenyl)-3-azabicyclo[3.3.1]nonanes 3-6 have been synthesized. The structural characterization and the conformational preferences of the compounds 3-6 have been carried out using IR, 1D and 2D NMR and Mass spectral data. The NMR spectral data indicates that the N-acyl-2,4-bis(4-methoxyphenyl)-3-azabicyclo[3.3.1]nonanes 3-6 prefer to exist in twin-chair conformation with partial flattening at nitrogen end. To avoid A1,3-strain, the anisyl groups at C2 and C4 are forced to occupy the quasi-axial orientation. X-ray crystal structure of the N-dichloroacetyl-2,4-bis(4-methoxyphenyl)-3-azabicyclo[3.3.1]nonane 6 also supports the similar conformation in the solid state. © 2015 Elsevier B.V. In the title compound, C24H29NO3, the aza-bicycle contains two six-membered rings, viz. a cyclo-hexane ring and a piperidine ring. The first adopts a chair conformation and the second a half-chair conformation. The dihedral angle between their mean planes is 86.21(13), indicating that they are almost perpendicular to one another. The dihedral angle between the planes of the 4-meth-oxy-phenyl rings is 17.51(13), and they make dihedral angles of 81.9(3) and 81.3(3) with the ethan-1-one group. In the crystal, mol-ecules are linked by C-H inter-actions forming chains along [10-1].

In the title compound, C20H22ClNO, the piperidine ring has a twist-boat conformation. There is an intra-molecular C-H inter-action involving the two phenyl rings which are inclined to one another by 84.91(7). In the crystal, mol-ecules are linked via C-HO hydrogen bonds, forming helical chains along [010]. The chains are linked by C-H inter-actions, forming sheets parallel to (100).

In the racemic title compound, C21H24ClNO, the dihedral angle between the planes of the benzene rings is 86.52(14) and those between the benzene rings and the piperidine ring are 61.66(14) and 86.39(14). The piperidine ring adopts a twisted boat conformation. No directional inter-actions could be detected in the crystal.

Watson-Crick finite automata are language recognizing devices similar to finite automata introduced in DNA computing area. We define Watson-Crick online tessellation automata which works on double-stranded arrays where the two strands relate to each other through a complementary relation inspired by the DNA complementarity. Some computational power of this automaton is dealt with. Also we define timed Watson-Crick ω-automaton and some equivalence results have been established. © 2010 IEEE.

In this study chitosan with incorporated herb bio nanocomposite was synthesized using multiple emulsion –solvent evoparation method. Mahavilvam (narangicrenulata) was selected based on its anti-bacterial activity. The synthesized bio nanocomposite was characterized by UV, FTIR and SEM studies. Anti-Bacterial study was done using well diffusion method. A comparative anti-bacterial study was carried out for chitosan ,mahavilvam, chitosan-mahavilvam composite and chitosan-mahavilvam nanocomposite .The mahavilvam nanocomposite showed an enhanced anti-microbial activity .The SEM analysis showed that nano composite was spherical in shape, the size of composite particle was in the range of 80-94nm. © 2015, Sphinx Knowledge House. Stress is a general term applied to the pressures people feel in life. When stress exceeds a certain level,it can have adverse effect on a person’s emotions,mental and physical health. Stress is defined as the “pressure or auguish resulting from difficult situation”. In modern world,BPO task is increasing in business on their clients. The stress is one of the major challenges and concern to all the employees. one of the highly affected organisations is business process outsourcing operations. There are several factors like working hours,family and health issues,pay package,educational qualification etc which cause stress to the BPO employees. The present paper studies the impact of pay package on the stress of the BPO employees and the relationship between educational qualification background of the employees and stress. For this purpose a survey is conducted on 100 employees in the health industry by following convenience sampling method. The survey revealed that the BPO employees in health sector are highly stressed due to various factors particularly pay package related issues. It is suggested that the organisation in the health sector have to focus more on the pay package and other facilities like medical benefits,career growth and educational allowances. © 2016,International Journal of Pharmacy and Technology. Single crystals of organic material guanidinium phenyl arsonate (GPA) of size 28 × 14 × 10 mm3 were grown from propanol-water mixed solvent by slow solvent evaporation technique. The crystal belongs to monoclinic system with noncentrosymmetric space group Cc. The lattice parameter values of GPA crystals are a = 18.453 Å, b = 7.609 Å, c = 12.592 Å and β = 121.856. The grown crystal was subjected to X-ray diffraction (XRD) study to identify its morphology and structure. Chemical etching study using propanol-water as etchant reveals the mechanism of growth. The formation of synthesized compound was confirmed by Fourier transform infrared (FT-IR) spectroscopy analysis. Optical transmittance and second harmonic generation (SHG) of the grown crystals were studied by UV-vis-NIR spectrum and Kurtz powder technique respectively. The transmittance of GPA has been used to calculate the refractive index 'n' and the extinction coefficient 'k'. The laser induced surface damage threshold for the grown crystal was determined using Nd:YAG laser. The mechanical behavior of GPA was analyzed using Vickers microhardness test. © 2013 Elsevier GmbH.

A potential organic nonlinear optical guanidinium 3-nitrobenzoate (Gu-3NB) was synthesized. Solubility of Gu-3NB was determined for various temperatures. Meta stable zone width and induction period values were determined in order to optimize the growth parameters. Nucleation parameters, such as interfacial tension, critical radius and free energy of formation of critical nucleus were evaluated. Optically good quality, bulk single crystal of Gu-3NB was successfully grown by slow evaporation method and slow cooling method with the optimized growth parameters. The etching study was performed to ascertain the growth quality of the crystal. The unit cell parameters and the morphology of Gu-3NB single crystal were determined by X-ray diffraction. The grown crystal was subjected to various characterization studies, such as optical, dielectric measurement and mechanical studies. © 2013 Elsevier GmbH.


Oxidation of alcohols by a variety of oxidizing agents has attracted the attention of numerous workers owing to the commercial value of products. Extensive kinetic studies have been made on the oxidation of several organic substrates by oxidants like pyridinium chlorochromate, imidazolium dichromate, quinolinium chlorochromate and quinolinium fluorochromate by earlier workers. However, there are no reports so far on the kinetics of oxidation of bicyclic secondary alcohols with pyridinium chlorochromate and 4,4'-(N,N-dimethylamino) pyridinium chlorochromate (DMAPCC) which are mild efficient and practical reagents for oxidation reactions. In this present work pyridinium chlorochromate and DMAPCC were synthesized and purified. The results of the kinetics of the oxidation of borneol and isoborneol with pyridinium chlorochromate and DMAPCC in aqueous DMF (50 % v/v) medium in the presence of perchloric acid is reported. This current research work proposes the mechanism based on kinetics of oxidation of borneol and isoborneol. The kinetics of oxidation of borneol and isoborneol by pyridinium chlorochromate and 4-(N,N-dimethylamino) pyridinium chlorochromate in 50 % dimethylformamide solution was investigated. The influence of substrate, temperature, acid strength on the kinetics of the reaction and substrate in order of reaction was studied. The activation parameters such as ΔG±, ΔH± and ΔS± were also determined.
