A composition for facilitating localized delivery of energy and of therapeutic agents to a lesion in tissue is disclosed comprising nanoparticles of a polysaccharide, gelatin or a polymer, wherein the nanoparticles are complexed with tin ions. The composition may comprise one or more therapeutic agents. The composition may be configured to improve the thermal effect of RF energy on a lesion and or to release the therapeutic agents to the lesion when RF energy is applied.


A method of managing treatment in a patient with B-cell acute lymphoblastic leukemia (B-ALL) for central nervous system (CNS) leukemia is disclosed. The method comprises obtaining cerebrospinal fluid (CSF) from the patient, obtaining a cell proteome including PFDN5- from the patient, detecting reactivity of CSF against the PFDN5-, comparing reactivity profile of CSF against the PFDN5- at diagnosis and during treatment, and determining the status of proliferation of leukemia in the patient depending on the comparison. The method further comprises treating the patient for CNS leukemia based on the status of proliferation.


A marine communication system has an on-shore base station providing a long-range network, an Internet router connecting the base station to an Internet network, a plurality of first fishing boats in a cluster, each having an onboard Access Router, and at least one second boat in the cluster equipped with Adaptive Backhaul Equipment, including a directional antenna and a backhaul transceiver capable of accessing the network provided by the base station. A formulation for treating a patient with hepatocellular carcinoma is disclosed. The formulation comprises therapeutic agents in the form of nanoparticles containing one or more proteins or polysaccharides. The therapeutic agent is conjugated to an active targeting agent causing the formulation to preferentially segregate to the hepatocellular carcinoma tissue to release the therapeutic agents. Methods of treating hepatocellular carcinoma using the formulations are also disclosed.

A system for harvesting produce from a tree has a drone capable of hovering, a video camera gathering visual data of movement, a cutting implement, a remote control station with a display screen, wireless circuitry, and input mechanisms to control movement of the drone and operation of the cutting implement, and circuitry in the body of the drone enabling two-way communication with the remote control station, transmission of video data from the video camera, and response to commands from the remote control station. The video data from the camera on the drone is displayed on the display screen of the remote control station, and an operator viewing the display screen operates the input mechanisms, maneuvering the drone to position the cutting implement relative to produce in the tree, and triggers the cutting implement by command, severing a stem to separate the produce, causing the produce to fall from the tree.

A non-enzymatic glucose sensor and method for fabricating the sensor are disclosed. The glucose sensor contains at least one non-enzymatic electrode configured to catalyze the electro-oxidation of glucose in preference to other bio-molecules. The surface of the electrode comprises CuO nanoparticles. The sensor shows sensitivity and selectivity exceeding enzyme based devices presently in use.
