The invention relates to a method for synchronizing an action in a piece of Rich Media content with a change in a piece of audiovisual content, said Rich Media and audiovisual content being part of a Rich Media presentation. According to the invention, the method comprises the following steps: obtaining a piece of information representative of said change in said piece of audiovisual content, or change information; synchronizing an action in said piece of Rich Media content with said change, said synchronization step including the following substeps: converting said change information into a Rich Media event; detecting said event by at least one Rich Media object of said presentation; triggering said action in said presentation on the basis of said detected event.

A method for personalizing content such as user interface items provided to a user during a session of an interactive application is disclosed. One or more environmental context attribute values for the session are determined. Responsive to a request for content, for at least one item of the content, each of the environmental context attribute values are mapped to respective values indicating a users level of interest in the item for the environmental context attribute values. Content is retrieved from a content database and the content is personalized as a function of the users level of interest in the item for the environmental context attribute values before being returned to the application.

A resource management system for managing resources in a computing and/or communications resource infrastructure is disclosed. The system comprises a database for storing a model of the resource infrastructure. The database defines a set of resources provided by the infrastructure; a set of software applications operating within the infrastructure and utilising resources; and associations between given applications in the model and given resources to indicate utilisation of the given resources by the given applications. The model can be used to perform resource utilisation analysis and failure impact analysis.
