It is proposed to refer to the product of the density by the squared mean square velocity of deformation waves, which has characteristic features of elastic moduli, as an effective modulus of elasticity. The ratio of the bulk modulus to the effective modulus of elasticity is a single-value function of the Poisson coefficient not only for crystals but also for inorganic glass, as well as amorphous and partially crystalline polymers. The effective elastic modulus may be useful when considering the anharmonicity of vibrations of the lattice of deformable bodies. © 2014 Pleiades Publishing, Ltd.

We propose that the product of the density by the square of the rms velocity of strain waves, which exhibits the features typical of elastic moduli, be referred to as effective (or characteristic) elastic modulus. The ratio of the bulk compression modulus to the effective elastic modulus is a single-valued function of the Poisson ratio not only for crystals and glasses, but also for amorphous organic polymers. The effective elastic modulus may be helpful in analysis of anharmonism of lattice vibrations of deformable bodies. © 2013 Pleiades Publishing, Ltd.

The dielectric loss tangent method was used to investigate the molecular mobility of cellulose esters with aromatic carboxylic acids as acylation agents. The influence of the nature of the substituent on the relaxation transition temperatures in the obtained polymers was studied. For cellulose esters containing an amino group, there was a reduction in the flow temperature, while for those containing an oxy group there was an increase in the flow temperature in comparison with the relaxation transition in aspen wood. The influence of the position of the substituent on the low-temperature relaxation processes occurring in cellulose esters with aromatic carboxylic acids having para- and ortho-substituents in the benzene ring was established. © 2013 Smithers Rapra Technology.

The modified rheological Vinogradov-Pokrovskii model is applied to solve the problem of the mathematical modeling of three-dimensional flow of a nonlinear viscoelastic fluid in a plane-parallel channel with an abrupt constriction. The discrete counterparts of the governing equations are obtained using the control volume method with the splitting in physical processes, while the numerical realization employs graphical processing units on the basis of the CUDA technology of parallel computations. The velocity and stress fields are calculated for two polyethylene specimens and the presence of circulation flow in the vicinity of the slot channel entry is noticed. The vortex dimensions considerably depend on the rheological parameters of the melt. © 2015, Pleiades Publishing, Ltd.

This paper explores the life support system of disabled population of Siberian rearward village in the Great Patriotic War 1941-1945 by means (techniques) and sources of oral history and Russian [version of] ethnology. The analysis of field data 1990-2014 demonstrates, that there was older generation being once de-peasantified in 1920s-30s, which developed in rural areas a set of behavioral actions and occupations, contributory to survival strategies of peasant family, based on resources of feeding environment and traditional culture of life support. Gathering of edible became one of the main means of child survival - this paper discusses its variations and patterns, as well edible plants, berries and mushrooms. According to research done, gathering edible was group-organized under supervision and with participation of grannies or individual expenditure - a kind of subsistence food that lies under the feet. An effort is taken to identify patterns and variations of gathering edible. It's proven that together with direct eating plants, family economy included preservation of natural edible in store for a long Siberian winter. The paper covers blank grass as impurities in the flour to bake bread, as well a base for porridge, features restrictions and punishments not only for gathering crumbled wheat spikelets on collective farm fields, but also suppression cases in the vicinity of the villages.
