Energy localization in the ordered condensed systems is analyzed using A{cyrillic}3? alloys with L12 superstructure. Using molecular dynamics, possible localization of phonon vibration energy in the aluminum sublattice and generation of a localized mode oscillating at a frequency belonging to the phonon spectrum energy gap and not representing a breather is considered for the ordered Pt3Al and Ni3Al alloys with L12 superstructure, which possess translational symmetry. Manifestations of anharmonicity in the atomic interactions and the relevant features of energy redistribution between sublattices of the ordered alloys are investigated. It is found out that in the ordered alloys of an A3B stoichiometry with L12 superstructure, whose phonon spectrum has a forbidden energy gap, vibrational energy can localize on the sublattice of B atoms. The alloys, found in a state of thermodynamic equilibrium at a certain temperature, are characterized by a local effect of spontaneous energy localization (the effect of energy redistribution between the lattices). © 2014 Springer Science+Business Media New York.

Increase of power demands of DC electric locomotives requires increasing catenaries voltage (which presently is 3 kV, 1.5 kV and 0.75 kV, respectively) 4, 6, 8, 10 times and more. At the traction substation, the rectifier will be adapted. The existing traction contact network (catenaries) is kept for direct current, and the novel N-cell dc/dc bidirectional converter without transformer will be located on the electric locomotive. Each cell voltage is defined by the locomotive power train DC input level, thus balancing of capacitor voltages is not required. Simulation results of the proposed 6-cell converter have confirmed the validity of predicted properties of the converter. Realization of a 10 kW model unit has been already started. The proposed converter added with four alternating current valves and the reversible rectifier, allows implementing of the galvanic separation of the load by using the output transformer operating at raised frequency. © 2010 IEEE.

It is known that, in a molecular dynamics model of Pt3Al crystal, a discrete breather (DB) with soft type nonlinearity (DB1) can be excited, which is characterized by a high degree of localization on a light atom (Al), stationarity, as well as a frequency that lies in the gap of the phonon spectrum and decreases with increasing amplitude of the DB. In this paper, it is demonstrated that a DB with hard type nonlinearity (DB2) can be excited in a Pt3Al nanofiber; this DB is localized on several light atoms, can move along the crystal, and has a frequency that lies above the phonon spectrum and increases with the DB amplitude. It is noteworthy that the presence of free surfaces of a nanofiber does not prevent the existence of DB1 and DB2 in it. Collisions of two DBs counterpropagating with equal velocities, as well as a collision of DB2 with a standing DB1, are considered. Two colliding DBs with hard type nonlinearity are repelled almost elastically, losing only insignificant part of their energy during the interaction. DB2 is also reflected from a standing DB1; in this case, the energy of the breathers is partially scattered into the Al sublattice. The results obtained indicate that DBs can transfer energy along a crystal over large distances. During the collision of two or more DBs, the energy localized in space can be as high as a few electron-volts; this allows one to raise the question of the participation of DBs in structural transformations of the crystal. © 2015, Pleiades Publishing, Inc.

The paper proposes some new expressions in several coordinate systems (oblique-angled 60- and 120-degree coordinates, barycentric and affine coordinates on triangles) for the voltage space vector of the multilevel voltage source inverter. The offered space vector representations can be useful for the real time digital signal processor control of converters, some of them lead to the algorithmic simplifications. © 2015 IEEE.


The work contains materials of bird count performed on August 03-09, 2013 along the Bolshaya Rechka River within the "Bolsherechensky" state reserve. We used a standard technique of route monitoring with unlimited surveillance area. The length of the route was 59 km; the total accounting area was 17.7 km2. The total of 93 bions and 40 breeding areas of 9 species of birds have been found. Another 4 species were found in the "Bolsherechensky" state reserve and its neighborhood during fragmentary observations in 2012. The research made it possible to conclude that the surveyed area is inhabited by fairly significant populations of common honey buzzards, black kites, sparrow hawks, common buzzards, greater spotted eagles, white-Tailed eagles and hobby falcons. The greatest number is observed in populations of black kites (27-28 nesting couples) and sparrow hawks (19-20 couples).

The elements of the Protopteris floras were identified in lower Emsian deposits in areas of collision and rift-related volcanism in Gorny Altai, Tuva Trough, Khakassia, Rybinsk Depression, and the eastern Kuznetsk Basin. The appearance of this type of flora in Siberia was accompanied by short-term climatic transitions from humid to arid conditions and periodic shoreline oscillations. The eruptions of volcanoes brought chemical elements and compounds into the atmosphere, which were responsible for mutations in the plants. Natural selection, which was caused by changes in climatic conditions, also played an important role. © 2014, Pleiades Publishing, Ltd.

The paper deals with two key oblique-angled coordinate systems for the space vector representation of the multilevel voltage source inverter which are considered as the coordinate systems of two delta voltages. Simplicity of the algorithm of the choice of the three nearest vectors to the reference and the determining of their actions durations under space vector PWM (SVPWM) realization in oblique-angled coordinates system is shown. The roles of the integer values and the fractional values of the relative delta voltages are revealed. The conclusion is drawn that the oblique-angled 60- and 120-degree coordinates are equivalent and similar from the point of view of steps, operations and results of the SVPWM algorithm application. The insertion of calculations in oblique-angled coordinates operations (with use of the presented formulas of corresponding transformations) as the subblock into the basic algorithm of calculations on orthogonal components has been proposed. © 2014 IEEE.


The taxonomy of the genus Leptosciarella Tuomikoski 1960 in Altai region within Altaiskii Krai and the Republic of Altai was studied. Eleven species were recognized, including three new species that are described and illustrated: Leptosciarella (L.) ulagana Komarova sp. n., L. (L.) angustistylus Komarova sp. n., L. (L.) senex Komarova sp. n. Additionally, L. (L.) fuscipalpa (Mohrig et Mamaev 1979) and L. (L.) truncata (Tuomikoski 1960) are reported from Altai for the first time. A key to the Altai species is provided.

The paper presents the data about Black Kite nesting in forest belts in the South of Western Siberia in the Altai territory. The length of the studied plantations was 50 km. In the study, 72 nesting trees of this predator were identified. Black Kites' preferences in selecting the specie of testing trees, its ontogenetic state, trunk thickness and tree strength were tested with the use of Ivlev-Jacobs selectivity index. The results have showed that the most preferred for nesting tree species in forest belts are poplar Populus sp. (selectivity index 0.5), birch Betula sp. occupied in proportion to their abundance (-0.02), while pine Pinus silvestris and maple Acer sp. are ignored to various degrees. By the ontogenetic state, middle-aged generative trees (0.74) are preferred, and old generative trees (-0.18) are ignored to a certain degree. In respect to the diameter of nesting trees' trunks, trees 31-40 cm in diameter are preferred (0.23). In proportion to their abundance, trees 21-30 cm in diameter are used (-0.04). Trees with other trunk thickness are ignored to various degrees, up to being totally avoided. The most preferred for nesting in forest belts are the trees with the index of power of 1.6-2 (0.31). Trees with the index of 1.1 to 1.5, and 2.1 to 2.5 are used approximately in proportion to their abundance (-0.02 and-0,07, respectively), and trees with the values of this index more than 2.6 and less than 1 are almost or completely ignored.
