The main goal of MyWave is to lay the foundation for a future Marine Core Service that includes ocean waves. The proposal has identified four target areas where concerted research is needed to establish a high quality GMES Marine Core Service for ocean waves: 1. increase the use of earth observations by improving data processing algorithms and data assimilation systems, 2. improve the physics in current wave models and provide a framework for coupled model systems (atmosphere/waves/ocean), 3. establish a new standard for probabilistic wave forecasts based on ensemble methods, 4. derive standard protocols for validation products.

The main objective of the MyOcean2 project will be to operate a rigorous, robust and sustainable Ocean Monitoring and Forecasting component of the GMES Marine Service (OMF/GMS) delivering ocean physical state and ecosystem information to intermediate and downstream users in the areas of marine safety, marine resources, marine and coastal environment and climate, seasonal and weather forecasting. This is highly consistent with the objective of the FP7 Space Work Programme to support a European Space Policy focusing on applications such as GMES (Global Monitoring for Environment and Security), with benefits for citizens, but also other space foundation areas for the competitiveness of the European space industry. In the period from April 2012 to September 2014, MyOcean2 will ensure a controlled continuation and extension of the services and systems already implemented in MyOcean, a previous funded FP7 project that has advanced the pre-operational marine service capabilities by conducting the necessary research and development. To enable the move to full operations as of 2014, MyOcean2 is targeting the prototype operations, and developing the necessary management and coordination environment, to provide GMES users with continuous access to the GMES service products, as well as the interfaces necessary to benefit from independent R&D activities. MyOcean2 will produce and deliver services based upon the common-denominator ocean state variables that are required to help meet the needs for information of those responsible for environmental and civil security policy making, assessment and implementation. MyOcean2 is also expected to have a significant impact on the emergence of a technically robust and sustainable GMES service infrastructure in Europe and significantly contribute to the environmental information base allowing Europe to independently evaluate its policy responses in a reliable and timely manner

Cleansky-Green Rotor Craft sub-project 5 is aimed at developing and testing new flight procedures for both helicopters and tilt rotors, aiming at significantly reduce environmental impact in terms of noise and gas emissions. This project contributes to this objective defining and validating, using an integrated Tilt Rotor-ATM simulation platform, new low noise ATC procedures for Tilt Rotor operations. Low-noise procedures in particular will require to accurately track possibly complex and steep trajectories both in take-off and landing, using optimized paths to avoid highly populated areas, using tilt rotors that have the potential to cruise speeds and altitudes compatible with fixed-wing traffic while taking-off and landing similarly to a conventional helicopter. Such a strategy heavily relies on advanced navigation and piloting aids to guarantee an acceptable level of pilot workload while retaining the benefits of the optimized paths. Moreover, future expansion of rotary-wing transportation will ask to fly in low visibility conditions under Instrumental Flight Rules (IFR), similarly to fixed-wing aircraft and using again sophisticated guidance means, as foreseen by SESAR, to ensure safety and low pilot workload. The transportation system will be strongly affected by the increased air traffic level and the need to control rotary-wing vehicles in IFR flight, in particular in terms of workload of the air traffic controllers. The ATM scenario models developed by this proposal will describe the ATM operations for approach and tower/ground control for a short-medium range mission with regard to a context using these new procedures developed for tilt rotors. The inclusion of initial findings of the SESAR initiative on trajectory management will represent another aspect of the innovation of the ATM world taken on board by GRC simulation and of the synergies between the major private/public investments now on-going in Europe.


The purpose of dynamically tuning in dense arrays is to improve power received and signal quality. In traditional phased array the inherent design procedure is to design for good matching over the frequency and scan angle of operation. Typically this is done in the overall design based on a priori knowledge of the frequency, relative phasing and amplitude distribution of all the elements. With this a priori knowledge the design can be done based on known mutual coupling.


A method and system for capturing, storing, and streaming over the air broadcasts based on user requests is disclosed. The system and method utilize an antenna system that receives all the different frequency channels simultaneously. The received signals are then amplified and a series of filters are used to filter the signal to differentiate the different frequencies. The signals are then decoded and duplicated for each user based on user requests.


A method and system for capturing, storing, and streaming over the air broadcasts based on user requests is disclosed. The system and method utilize subarrays of antenna elements for receiving over the air broadcasts. Processing pipelines are used to demodulate, transcode and index the content transmissions to produce content data that are streamed to users. In this way, the feeds from antennas can be accessed by users over a network connection.


A cloud based video delivery system along with a method and graphical user interface for streaming synchronized video content data to a group of user devices are disclosed. The user devices of the group receive speech to text converted audio (or speech-to-text communications) generated by the different users of their group along with the streaming video content data from the cloud based video delivery system. The speech to text communication and streaming video content data are then displayed on the user devices of the users in a synchronized fashion.


A graphical user interface implemented on user devices and method for displaying a program guide is disclosed. Upon invocation of a program guide from an active area tab, a program guide overlay is displayed over a video portion of the graphical user interface. Additionally, when the program guide overlay is displayed, a volume of the video portion is lowered or muted and a video portion of the graphical user interface is grayed out.


A Graphical User Interface (GUI) for displaying broadcast television on a mobile device. The GUI is intended for use with a cloud-based digital video recorder and includes a programming guide, allowing users to watch live television or record programs for later viewing. The invention also includes a system for displaying comments about television programs in a social networking environment. The comments are entered and distributed relative to a particular point in a television program rather than in real time, allowing users to comment on a television program even when they are not watching the program at the same time.

A system and method for installing and deploying antenna elements on antenna arrays cards is disclosed. The antenna elements are installed on front sides of the antenna array cards and active components are installed on back sides of the antenna array cards. The antenna array cards are then installed within enclosures to create troughs with the antenna elements. Alternatively, magnetic and electric antenna elements are installed together on the front sides of the antenna array cards to create non-homogenous arrays.
