The performance of the photovoltaic panels (PV) is influenced by the share of the module surface exposed to sunlight. The necessity of shading analysis when designing a photovoltaic system comes from the string construction of the most PV panels and from the number of bypass diode. The most obvious result of a shadow is a decrease in power output from the photovoltaic array. The amount of power loss is a function of the size and shape of the shadow, the geometrical and electrical layout of the cells in the array. © 2017 IEEE.

The aim of this study was to investigate the influence of Ca-10-x Eux(PO4)6(OH)2, (xeu=0; 0.05) before and after immersion in simulated body fluid (SBF) for 72 hours. The samples have been investigated by X-Ray Diffraction, FT-IR Spectroscopy, Raman Spectroscopy and Steady-State Photoluminescence. Moreover, it was studied the antibacterial activity of the powders against Staphylococcus aureus and Escherichia coli bacterial strains. Our studies revealed that after soaking in SBF solution, the average crystallite size of the samples increased. Moreover, it was noticed that the luminescence of the samples is strongly influenced by the immersion in SBF solution. © 2015, National Institute of Optoelectronics. All rights reserved.

This paper reports structural and morphological studies as well as in vivo evaluation of glycerol-iron-oxide nanoparticles (GIO-NPs) in order to investigate their influence on different organic tissues. Transmission electron microscopy (TEM) studies confirm the structure characteristic to iron oxide nanoparticles and their ellipsoidal shape. The histopathological examinations indicated that the studied nanoparticles induce many morphological alterations to the liver, kidneys and spleen tissues 24h, 48h and 72h exposure.
