Saliency detection is an active topic in multimedia field. Several algorithms have been proposed in this field. Most previous works on saliency detection focus on 2D images. However, for some complex situations which contain multiple objects or complex background, they are not robust and their performances are not satisfied. Recently, 3D visual information supplies a powerful cue for saliency detection. In this paper, we propose a multilayer backpropagation saliency detection algorithm based on depth mining by which we exploit depth cue from four different layers of images. The evaluation of the proposed algorithm on two challenging datasets shows that our algorithm outperforms state-of-the-art. © Springer International Publishing AG 2017.

In this paper, we present a novel method for single-image shadow removal. From the observation of images with shadow, we find that the pixels from the object with same material will form a line in the RGB color space as illumination changes. Besides, we find these lines do not cross with the origin due to the effect of ambient light. Thus, we establish an offset correction relationship to remove the effect of ambient light. Then we derive a linear shadow image model to perform color-line identification. With the linear model, our shadow removal method is proposed as following. First, perform color-line clustering and illumination estimation. Second, use an on-the-fly learning method to detect umbra and penumbra. Third, estimate the shadow scale by the statistics of shadow-free regions. Finally, refine the shadow scale by illumination optimization. Our method is simple and effective for producing high-quality shadow-free images and has the ability for processing scenes with rich texture types and non-uniform shadows. © Springer International Publishing AG 2017.

Broadcasting data to multiple users is widely used in wireless applications. We consider a group of mobile users, within proximity of each other, who are interested in the same video content. Network coded broadcast and cooperative coded communication can improve transmission efficiency and throughput over wireless network separately. In this paper we consider the D2D-assisted wireless network coded broadcast problem for users with multiple interfaces to minimize the number of transmission slots. In order to obtain all needed packets, user can receive encoded packet according to cellular link and local cooperative D2D links simultaneously. We analyze the lower bound of number of transmission slots and formulate the problem with integer linear programming(ILP). We also develop heuristic solution for this setup, and simulation results show that our coding scheme significantly reduces the number of transmission slots. © 2017 IEEE.

In this paper, a field test and data analysis method for S-band China mobile multimedia broadcasting(CMMB) signal coverage is presented. The test scene and experiment model of related trial, as well as the data analysis process are introduced. During the data analysis process, ICS Telecom frequency plan software is used to estimate the coverage firstly. And then measured data is imported to ICS Telecom software after being screened. Finally, both estimated data and measured data are compared with statistical method, and prediction errors of each model are visualized in MapInfo software. By this method, the most precise one can be found among several S-band radio propagation models in similar terrains and propagation scenarios. The method can provide reference for the S-band networking planning of CMMB service. Copyright © 2011 by Editorial Department of Chinese Journal of Radio Science.

In the same frequency networking environment, the neighbor cell density is evenly user (neighboring cell are equal when the number of users), the total throughput of the single-user and the variation of the cell as follows: Network traffic prediction, data flow prediction model plays an important role. There are some differences in the data business model than traditional circuit domain model, the circuit domain model analysis usually discrete state Markov model, the existing network of environmental data and business user reach you obey Poisson distribution, long exponentially distributed service, and each user exclusive a channel resources. To improve data flow model consistency with the existing network, improve network planning rationality, based on the business itself and the community in line with the rate of change in the characteristics of a continuous process (and users to share data resources), and traffic flow model with the more common: Such as roads and resources channel resources are shared resources, user rates are in line with the continuity of the trend. When a small number of users, the total throughput of the cell to maintain stability in the higher range, and the rapid decline in single-user rate trends; while large number of users, the total throughput of the cell to some extent, remain stable, and the single-user rate decreased gradually slowdown. © 2014 IEEE.

In traditional research on task scheduling algorithms based on user satisfaction, all users can only have the same satisfaction function that means system assumes all users have the same scheduling motivation. But in real distributed system, different users usually have different motivations. To solve this problem, in this paper, we propose a genetic scheduling algorithm based on user overall satisfaction, which is the sum of the value of every user satisfaction. This algorithm supports different satisfaction functions for different users, which meets the requirements of real distributed environment well. © 2012 IEEE.

A thorough OFDM parameter design method of a digital broadcasting system in FM band is presented in this paper. Key OFDM parameters are analyzed from their constraints. Cyclic prefix should satisfy the requirement of channel delay and formation of SFN. Design of system bandwidth should consider coherent bandwidth and existing frequency planning. Symbol duration is restricted by time selectivity and frequency selectivity of the channel, and also efficient SINR should be maximized. System simulation is performed to test and verify the parameters under typical FM band channels. A set of OFDM parameter is provided for future design. © 2013 Trans Tech Publications Ltd, Switzerland.
