A throttle valve, of which the flow characteristics is one of the important factors, is a typical hydraulic element for controlling pressure or flow in hydraulic actuation systems. This paper represents a new method to investigate the flow characteristics of water hydraulic poppet valve with sharp-edged seat. Based on previous studies of pressure field inside poppet valve, a simplified model is developed to describe the pressure distribution on the spool conical surface. The static flow force acting on the spool is investigated by utilizing the pressure distribution and the momentum theorem. The flow-pressure equation and the flow coefficient are modeled based on the equivalence of the two methods. Experimental studies are carried out to investigate the flow characteristics and comparison analyses are made between the models and the experiments. The results show that the flow characteristics of poppet valve is highly affected by the inlet/outlet conditions, openings and spool taper angles and can be expressed considerably by the models. © 2011 IEEE.

Clay & Associated DDS, PLC recently introduced Botox and Dermafill services at their new clinic located at 1905 North 15th Street in Fort Dodge, Iowa. Dr. John Clay and Dr. Nan Bates are both trained in Botulinum Toxin, Dermal Filler and Frontline TMD/Orofacial Pain services through the American Academy of Facial Esthetics (AAFE) and an ADA CERP Recognized Provider. The training also included model patients where Dr. Clay and Dr. Bates were able practice and perform procedures. Botox and Dermafill services are well known for cosmetic benefits and are a popular service to treat frown lines, crow’s feet lines, reshape portions of the face, furrows or other skin depressions. Both of these procedures are noticeable within a few hours and improve over the next few days. Patients can expect to continue seeing the benefits for 3 to 4 months after the procedure. Many may not realize that these same products are beneficial to help with other medical issues such as TMD (Temporomandibular joints) commonly referred to as TMJ and headaches. TMD can be caused by an injury to the jaw, the joint, or the muscles of your head and neck -- like from a heavy blow or whiplash. Other causes include grinding or clenching of teeth, movement of the soft cushion or disc between the ball and socket of the joint, arthritis in the joint and stress. Headaches can also become a medical issue from any of the causes listed and Botox has been beneficial in decreasing the pain and frequency of headaches for patients. “Our clinic continues to provide and expand the services for our patients. This is just another example of the direction that modern dentistry is moving,” states Dr. John Clay. “Dr. Bates and I have been seeing great results with this new service and invite anyone interested in knowing more to attend our upcoming Botox Party.” The next Botox Party will be held on Tuesday, December 6th at 6:30 pm at the Clay & Associates DDS, PLC Clinic. Interested individuals can go online to register as seating is limited. There are no costs to attend and visitors will also receive complimentary wine and appetizers. The time will be spent explaining the many services that benefit from Botox and Dermafill and allow attendees to ask questions and set up complimentary consultations. Clay & Associates DDS, PLC is located at 1905 North 15th Street, Fort Dodge, IA. The state of the art clinic provides dental and dental hygiene services along with pediatric, implant and cosmetic dentistry. There are higher requirements for human behavior representation (HBR) in constructive simulation. After analyzing the military domain requirements and theory requirements of individual and organization behavior modeling, the basic theory progress of HBR were discussed including motivation theory, behavior decision-making theory, four main cognition schools and four typical cognition structures-SOAR, ACT-R, EPIC and 4CAPS. Their advantages and limitations were indicated. Then, the state of the art of HBR was summarized including the contribution and deficiency of former research. Some recommendations to HBR researchers are listed in the end. © Springer-Verlag Berlin Heidelberg 2012.

Ad Hoc Network and its potential application were introduced, typical proactive routing protocol DSDV and typical on-demand routing protocol AODV were analyzed and compared.Modeling and simulation for DSDV protocol and AODV protocol in tactical unit network were projected under VRNET Developer platform. Results show that DSDV protocol has pretty performance in network environment with fewer nodes, low mobility and high real-time requirements, and AODV protocol is more fit for network environment with many nodes and high mobility. © 2012 Springer-Verlag.

Two kinds of Mo coatings were sprayed by supersonic plasma spraying and HVAS on the AISI 4340 steel in order to improve the anti-wear performance, and the microstructure was also studied. The microstructure of super plasma sprayed Mo coating showed more compact and less pores than HVAS Mo coating, and the ball-on-disc sliding wear test with heavy loading and boundary lubrication indicated that the supersonic plasma Mo coating had a better anti-wear performance as compared with that of HVAS Mo coating which made nothing much difference to the anti-wear performance AISI 4340 steel. The worn surface revealed the abrasive wear mechanism accompanied with grooves and pits of supersonic plasma sprayed Mo coating, and the worn surface of HVAS Mo coating had a serious plastic deformation with oxidation, which belongs to oxidation and adhesive wear. © 2016 Taylor & Francis Group, London.

The GT-POWER software was used to build the working process model of the diesel engine; through the bench test of the diesel engine, the simulation results were contrasted with the test results to proof the accuracy. The advance angle of injection of diesel engine was optimized at different loads of 2200r/min 1500r/min, the major parameters regularity of the diesel engine was further studied and the optimum advance angle of injection was got. The foundation was provided gifts to carry out the electric control injection to improve the power and economy performance of the armored vehicle diesel engine. © 2010 IEEE.

Based on the structural features of projectile and concrete target, projectile damage mechanism and destroyed mode of target materials, utilizing the LS-DYNA which is a program that analyze dynamics to simulate the process of the target being intruded and damaged. The result is cohesive with theory and rules. At the same time, analyzing and validating the result by contrasting result and test result. It shows that the computational model and simulation method are reasonable and practicable. © 2010 IEEE.

Weapon-Target Assignment (WTA) is a key part in the process of command decision making. Rational assignment project is of great significance for the improvement of commanding efficiency. WTA is a Nondeterministic Polynomial Completeness problem, whose solution space takes on the phenomena of "combinatorial exploration". Traditional method has time complexity on resolving it. Genetic Algorithm (GA) is a simple and efficient method to solve large-scale combinatorial optimization, and it also has the implicit parallelism characteristic. In the paper, the method of GA mixed with damage simulation is introduced. Firstly, a general mathematical model of WTA is built, and its characteristics are introduced. Then the principium of genetic algorithm mixed with simulation is present briefly. In the following, a kind of GA for solving WTA is designed in details on the aspects of coding, initiative population and genetic manipulation. The way how to code under different shooting precision and rules is given. In the last, it is proved that GA combined with the damage simulation model is efficient to solve the large-scale dynamic WTA problem. © 2010 IEEE.

In this paper, adopted explicit dynamic analyzing program AUTODYN basing on finite element to simulate the process of the shaped charge jet formation and the penetration through the steel target, base on the characteristic of the shaped charge structure and the mechanisms of jet penetrating the target. Adopted ALE ( Arbitrary Lagrange Euler ) arithmetic to acquire numerical simulation results. By analyzing, the simulation result that the shaped charge jet formation is basically accordant by contrasting the physical phenomenon and rule. At one time, the result that the target be damaged is basically same by contrasting the result of the trial. The simulation model and method that the shaped charge jet formation and the penetration through the target are proved to be reasonable and feasible. © the authors.
