A throttle valve, of which the flow characteristics is one of the important factors, is a typical hydraulic element for controlling pressure or flow in hydraulic actuation systems. This paper represents a new method to investigate the flow characteristics of water hydraulic poppet valve with sharp-edged seat. Based on previous studies of pressure field inside poppet valve, a simplified model is developed to describe the pressure distribution on the spool conical surface. The static flow force acting on the spool is investigated by utilizing the pressure distribution and the momentum theorem. The flow-pressure equation and the flow coefficient are modeled based on the equivalence of the two methods. Experimental studies are carried out to investigate the flow characteristics and comparison analyses are made between the models and the experiments. The results show that the flow characteristics of poppet valve is highly affected by the inlet/outlet conditions, openings and spool taper angles and can be expressed considerably by the models. © 2011 IEEE. Weapon-Target Assignment (WTA) is a key part in the process of command decision making. Rational assignment project is of great significance for the improvement of commanding efficiency. WTA is a Nondeterministic Polynomial Completeness problem, whose solution space takes on the phenomena of "combinatorial exploration". Traditional method has time complexity on resolving it. Genetic Algorithm (GA) is a simple and efficient method to solve large-scale combinatorial optimization, and it also has the implicit parallelism characteristic. In the paper, the method of GA mixed with damage simulation is introduced. Firstly, a general mathematical model of WTA is built, and its characteristics are introduced. Then the principium of genetic algorithm mixed with simulation is present briefly. In the following, a kind of GA for solving WTA is designed in details on the aspects of coding, initiative population and genetic manipulation. The way how to code under different shooting precision and rules is given. In the last, it is proved that GA combined with the damage simulation model is efficient to solve the large-scale dynamic WTA problem. © 2010 IEEE. Source

There is higher requirement for warfare simulation in depth and extent. Simulation scales need to be enlarged and more attention should be paid to the precision of warfare simulation. After analyzing the deficiency of traditional platform-level CGF (Computer Generated Forces) model in satisfying simulation requirements, we establish a weapon platform CGF model configuration based on battle crew. The main behavior factors that may affect the decision-making behavior and operation behavior of combatant in the combat and the influence mechanism are researched and then these factors are represented in the post model. Finally, the tank CGF gunner post model based on individual behavior difference is achieved and the application effect of tank gunner post model in some campaign simulation system is analyzed. © 2010 IEEE. Two kinds of Mo coatings were sprayed by supersonic plasma spraying and HVAS on the AISI 4340 steel in order to improve the anti-wear performance, and the microstructure was also studied. The microstructure of super plasma sprayed Mo coating showed more compact and less pores than HVAS Mo coating, and the ball-on-disc sliding wear test with heavy loading and boundary lubrication indicated that the supersonic plasma Mo coating had a better anti-wear performance as compared with that of HVAS Mo coating which made nothing much difference to the anti-wear performance AISI 4340 steel. The worn surface revealed the abrasive wear mechanism accompanied with grooves and pits of supersonic plasma sprayed Mo coating, and the worn surface of HVAS Mo coating had a serious plastic deformation with oxidation, which belongs to oxidation and adhesive wear. © 2016 Taylor & Francis Group, London.
